Goku - Basic Info
Son Goku (孫そん悟ご空くう Son Gokū, Japanese pronunciation: [sõŋgokɯː]), born Kakarot (カカロット Kakarotto, Japanese pronunciation: [kakaɾot̚to]), is a Saiyan raised on Earth and the overall main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series. He is Bardock and Gine's youngest son, the husband of Chi-Chi, and the father of Gohan and Goten. Originally sent to Earth by his parents as an infant, Kakarot was adopted by Grandpa Gohan and renamed Son Goku. A head injury at an early age altered Goku's memory, ridding him of his initial destructive nature and allowing him to grow up to become one of Earth's greatest defenders. Goku constantly strives and trains to be the greatest warrior possible, which has kept the Earth and the universe safe from destruction multiple times.[23]
Goku is introduced as an eccentric, monkey-tailed boy who practices martial arts and possesses superhuman strength. He meets Bulma and joins her on a journey to find the seven wish-granting Dragon Balls. Along the way, he finds new friends who follow him on his journey to become a stronger fighter.
In my what if Goku at birth is gifted the powers of the Omni-King and he has to set out and train to harness these abilities.
Status: Alive
Base Power Level: 523 duotrigintillion (Higher in different transformations.)
Personality
Much like the original Goku, This Goku as an infant Saiyan, Goku was very timid, constantly crying for attention. Goku was then programmed with intense hostility to carry out his mission of eradicating all sentient life on Earth. When found by Grandpa Gohan, he was unruly, savage, and aggressive, wanting nothing to do with the elder. However, after the head injury that caused him to lose his instinctual aggression, Goku became well-known for the energetic, kind hearted, pure heart and caring personality traits he inherited from his mother Gine. He was taught to be compassionate and respectful to others by Grandpa Gohan. He takes most situations in stride; he rarely lets things get him worked up; he quickly got over losing his tail each time. He is however not without fear. Goku is shown to be submissive to overbearing women like Bulma and Chi-Chi, even to the point of Master Roshi jokingly declaring that for all his immense power, he is terrified of his wife. In the anime, he also has aichmophobia, a crippling fear of needles. He is not beyond feeling sorrow, most noticeably seen from the loss of his grandfather. In the Dragon Ball Super manga, he is not above feeling shame, as he regrets his lack of maturity as a person despite all the teachers who have helped him and likewise wants to make his loved-ones proud of him. He also shows genuine concern for the well-being of those close to him. When Master Roshi seemingly died against Ganos, Goku frantically rushed to his aid, desperate to save his mentor and shed tears of joy when he managed to revive him.
Appearance
This Goku also looks almost exactly like his father, possessing the same spiky black hairstyle, dark-colored eyes, and facial features. However, he has softer eyes, a kind demeanor, and a lighter-pale skin complexion from his mother. Goku's most distinguishing physical characteristic is his hair. He has three bangs hanging to the right of his forehead and two bangs hanging to the left. His hair also stands up in the front with four spikes and three bangs in the back (later in the anime, he has five spikes in the front and four in the back). Goku was born with the signature tail of the Universe 7 Saiyans, which was long and prehensile with brown fur. It was removed and regrown multiple times in his early childhood, but in his late teens, Goku's tail was permanently removed by Kami in order to prevent his Great Ape transformation.
Powers and Abilities
"Goku, unlike his original counterpart, possesses innate omnipotent powers, granting him an incredible range of abilities. His fundamental ki-based attacks include the classic ki blasts, Kamehameha waves in various forms, suppressed Kamehameha waves, and the Spirit Bomb.
However, what makes Goku truly fascinating are the techniques he's acquired from his friends and foes. These include moves like the Final Flash, Big Bang Attack, Gatling Gun, and more. Additionally, Goku has mastered advanced techniques, and some typically reserved for fusion characters in the anime. These include the Ultra Instinct Kamehameha, Ultra Big Bang Kamehameha, Full Power Ultra Instinct Kamehameha, Suppressed Big Bang Kamehameha, Soul Punisher/Stardust Breaker, among others.
Furthermore, I've introduced some of his most potent and original attacks, such as the Full Power Kamehameha, the Cosmic Singularity (a devastating black hole attack featured in Chapter 5), the Full Power Omega Kamehameha, the Final Kamehameha, and the Gatling Kamehameha.
Notably, Goku's Erase move stands as one of his most formidable yet rarely successful attacks.
It's worth mentioning that while Goku possesses an extensive repertoire of techniques, some are simply less significant or noteworthy in the grand scheme of his omnipotent abilities."
Appearances
Goku plays a central role throughout the story, either through his active presence or frequent mentions. However, in chapters 5-8, Goku's character takes a different turn. During this span, he finds himself incapacitated, adrift in the depths of space. These chapters shift the spotlight towards other prominent characters, including Vegeta, Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Krillin, and more.
Within this narrative arc, Goku's condition takes a perilous turn as he slowly succumbs to a life-threatening situation. The story reaches a critical juncture, where Goku's fate hangs in the balance. It's ultimately the intervention of two benevolent Namekians, Kivan and Terek, that miraculously saves Goku from the brink of demise.
Additional Insights
This version of Goku is an absolute powerhouse, and his might is not to be underestimated. Nevertheless, at his core, he remains the Goku we know and love. He possesses an insatiable passion for combat and holds a deep affection for those who are dear to him.
It's crucial to understand that when faced with a genuine threat, Goku's demeanor undergoes a remarkable transformation. In such moments, he becomes exceptionally focused and dedicated, arguably more so than the typical Goku we've seen. He's unwavering in his determination to protect those he cherishes and won't hesitate to take decisive action, including the use of lethal force, if it means safeguarding his loved ones.
