Two girls were lying side-by-side on a bed, resting on their chests, with their legs kicking up into the air. Their arms were entangled around each other, fingers interlocking together. One wore a green vest top, a loose white cardigan hanging around her shoulders, with short-cut dusty-looking jeans and bare feet. Her near-white hair was settled in two high plaits. The other wore a torn black top, with an anorak of the same colour buttoned up over it, making her appear fatter than she was. Long leggings were worn on her legs, with a white-and-red skirt puffing out. Black hair whipped her eyes, tangled and unbrushed - but she didn't care. All that mattered was that her best friend, and her girlfriend, was lying beside her.
Victoria Parker, flinging off her cardigan, sat up, her lips curling up just slightly, before they fell back down again, into a polite and neutral expression. Her hands and arms pulled away from the girl beside her, settling into an arm-cross.1109Please respect copyright.PENANAXQqRvNlaII
"Hmm," she mumbled, staring ahead at the door. "I'm bored with this."1109Please respect copyright.PENANAwLCrxkbzuU
"With what?" her partner, Samantha Matthews, questioned, not really very interested.
"This."
"Be a bit clearer," Samantha sighed, rolling her eyes. She appeared bored too.
"We've been together for-"
"-eight months," Samantha finished, "and you want to break up!"
"I just think-"
"Don't say anything," Samantha hissed, "you don't need to. The only reason you put up with me was because I was going through depression and you felt you couldn't. Now that I'm supposed to be recovering, you feel it's time to tell me! Isn't that true?" Victoria's sky-coloured eyes welled up, and Samantha brought herself up. She swore under her breath, getting up from the bed and walking along the carpet to the door.
"Please, Sammie, hear me out," Victoria whispered, choking slightly on her own words.
"I know what you're going to say though. Our relationship is boring. It's going nowhere. I can take the words right out of your mouth, you excitement-craving bitch!" The words stung Samantha's mouth, as she jumped back, surprised with her own language. "I'm so sorry. I didn't - I didn't mean it."
"Is that what you think of me? After all this time?" Victoria asked, hurt, her words quiet and drained of happiness. 1109Please respect copyright.PENANAkY7jFwVeOs
"I love you, but you obviously don't love me," Samantha then said, ignoring the question, searching the ground for her socks. Once found, she hurriedly pulled them on and rushed down the stairs.1109Please respect copyright.PENANAn8Ov947B2s
"Sammie!" Samantha did not reply, instead going to the door where her boots were curled up on the ground. She carelessly tugged them on, not bothering to undo the zip on their side, tears slowly descending down her cheeks. She heard footsteps. It was Victoria. She was coming down. Grabbing her coat, and not bothering to put it on, Samantha charged out of the house without caring to shut the door behind her.1109Please respect copyright.PENANAmo6z6HfCEG
