The clock ticks beside my desk. And despite the fact that I'm focusing on my work right now, my senses are on high alert. Waiting, expecting...

I don't care if I am earning glares and looks from my colleagues at work. They're just pretentious little twerps who are too afraid to express their feelings. I already know that they also share the same thoughts when it comes to ending work.
Me? I'm just glad that work is already done for the day and it's Friday! And you know what this means...
Quick as lightning, I sweep my stuff from my desk and catch them using my shoulder bag. Downing my already cold chocolate drink, I throw the styrofoam cup in the trash by my feet. Before anything or anyone else can stop me, I click my computer off, and stand up from my cubicle, making a beeline for the elevator.
As soon as I'm inside, I press the button for the ground floor, silently smirking that I have the elevator to myself. While the elevator eases its way down the building, I fish my phone from my bag and swipe my password code.
Quickly clicking on my Games folder and started playing my favorite mobile games, one game at a time. I should do my daily missions on one game, do the event on the other...there's so many things to do and I can't wait to bury myself in them.
My heart thuds in my chest and my eyes widen when the game I love so much shows a new banner for gacha pulls. I almost salivate at the handsome 2D men that are available for grabs.
My eyes especially zeroed in on one guy in particular. The one with the long, beautiful silver hair and piercing blood red eyes.
Tristan.
He's my bias of all bias. My bestest boy of all the best boys in the game. Ever since the game developers posted the upcoming cards that players can look forward to, I've been dreaming to get my hands on this card.
And the banner is up now!
Looking up at my in-game currency, my beating heart stopped. It then dropped like hard lead in the deep pits of my stomach.
I only have in-game diamond left?!?!
I panic and hyperventilate a bit at the fact. While in the middle of panicking at my misfortune, I hear the telltale ding of the elevator door, signifying I'm already on my floor. My feet automatically walked out of the elevator and they expertly led out of the building and I'm well on my way home.
While I let my feet lead me the way, I keep my attention on my phone. And despair on my status in the game.
The price for a ten-plus-one pull is 3700 diamonds or dias, for short! Just what did I do the last time I played this game that I only have one dia left--
Oh...
I remember now...
Before this new banner was released, there was an event in the game where one of my favorite bias' cards is up for grabs. I already spent all of my dias just to get him, and ended up being broke.
I sigh and search for the stuff I needed to do to earn more dias. I mean, I can always top up but then, I already did last last event. And my salary is still three weeks away and my current budget is already spent on my rent and food for this month. The spare money I have with me for emergencies only amounted to $50.
...and even if I somehow got impulsive, I know paying using only $50 is not enough to guarantee that I'll get my bias. I don't trust the rate ups in gacha games and...there's no pity in this particular game. Meaning, no matter how much I accumulate pulls, I won't get a guarantee that I'll get my bias after a certain number of pulls.
Which is sad.
I sigh again but I kept the depression at bay when I saw that I still have some quests I didn't do. Quests that give me only a smidgen of dias but beggars can't be choosers.
Guess I have to farm a lot as soon as I get home and--
HONK HONK!
My eyes widen and just as I raise my head to look at the source of the sound, the sight of bright lights fills my vision. And after that, I feel something slam onto me. A second later, immense pain courses through my body and then...
Darkness.

Well, this was a somewhat familiar scene. It seemed that I died. And I haven't even farmed dias for my game to pull for Tristan. How depressing. What a depressing way to go.
