Twila's POV:

“What keeps you going through all of this?” spoke Mr. Harrison, my Quantum Physics professor. I decided to entrust them with my so-called idea. “This is absolutely ridiculous, Miss Cannons. That is not scientifically possible”. “But, please, please just listen. I know that my idea might sound super insane. But I believe it's possible. Just let me gather-”. “No. No Twila. You are putting yourself in danger. You are putting us and the university in danger altogether.” declared Ms. Harrison. She stood up from her chair, her lengthy dreads swaying side to side as she walked towards me. “You are only 16. This is your first year in university. Don’t pressure yourself with ideas that are out of your reach.” She grabbed my hand, and we made eye contact. I broke it because I sighed out of frustration. I was on the verge of giving up. I answered “Look, I… okay. I'll stop this plan that I have. For now. But I want to thank both of you for listening to my theory.” I grabbed my tote bag and went toward the direction of the classroom door. “Have a good night Mr. and Ms. Harrison.” “Have a good night Ms. Cannons.” declared Mr. Harrison. “And drive safely! Remember that you only have your driver's permit!” exclaimed Ms. Harrison with a lighthearted tone. Before I walked out, I turned around, nodded and smiled at both of them. I closed the door, walked down the hallway, down the stairs toward the exit. I tried pushing open the door, but then I realized it was a pull door. Out of embarrassment, I ran out the building, hoping that no one saw what had just happened. On my way to my car, I took out my keys and checked the time on my apple watch. 7:13 pm. I put on my sweater. It was freezing outside. The type for cold that you could see your breath in the air. While opening my car door, my stomach grumbled. I haven't eaten anything in a long time. I pushed the thought into the back of my head, hoping that I would forget about it. The UCSD campus is very spacious. I drove back to the dorms, which were at least a mile and a half away. Going up to my room, I saw a couple of moving boxes by the door of my room. "It must be my new roommate." I took my key out, knocked on the door. No one answered. I opened the door. Looked around, no one was here. I walked up to my bed; I saw a piece of cream-colored paper with swift and elegant handwriting. It wrote, "Hello, my name is Gang So-Hae. I got transferred here from the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. I will be your new roommate; I won't be here until next week, since I'm still moving in. I will be traveling in and out of our dorm room, so my apologies for any commotion that I cause. Can we meet at the University cafeteria? 8:15 sharp on Thursday next week. Have a good night." " Wow, HAHA um..., this chick is, uh, very sophisticated. She writes like an office lady. She seems cool though." I mumbled to myself while taking off my Mary janes and I placed the note on my lamp, so I wouldn't forget. I checked my phone. 8:49 pm. I decided to stay up a little later to catchup with schoolwork. By the time that i was done, it was 11:29 pm. I decided to rest. No school tomorrow, which is a relief. Now I'll be able to go out and finish some chores. I raised up my blanket, went over my Squish Mallows and tucked myself in. I set an alarm on my phone for 9:30 am and set my phones to charge. I rolled over to my right side next to the wall, opened the window a little bit. I laid back down and I dozed off into the night in the warmth of my bed.
