Last night was one of the most terrifying experiences I’d had in a long time. It started out with me sleeping simply enough. I had gone to bed nice and early that night with hopes of getting up early so I could finish some work. That unfortunately didn’t happen because for some reason I awoke around two in the morning. My body felt like it’d been crafted from led as I lifted my head off the pillow and glanced outside. The moon was still out, but it looked a lot brighter than normal because of the snow reflecting the moonlight. It was very pretty to look at, but I wasn’t in any mood to admire moonlight.
It didn’t take long at all for me to awaken once again from my sleep. Again, I sluggishly opened my eyes but this time found something different. Standing tall and intimidating by the side of my bed was a black shadow that sort of resembled a shaded bar looking at me. I couldn’t believe what I was looking at and shot up from my bed, ignoring the exhaustion I felt. The shadow didn’t move and continued to stay where it was. For a moment I just stared at it expecting something to happen, and when nothing did I bolted for the door.
I could feel the shadow behind me catching up and as I went to close the door, I felt a strong grip on my fingertips. The scariest part was that I couldn’t see anything where my hand was. All I felt were fingers gipping onto my own. I struggled for a while with whatever had grabbed me before it finally let go.
This thing that grabbed me felt strangely human. It wasn’t cold like I sort of thought it would be, but warm. I could even feel the curves of the fingers as they grabbed me. The only difference between this thing and a human’s hand were the lack of texture. The “fingers” felt more like a powerful air pulling me back.
My body shivered at the idea of having to see that thing again. Instead of going back to my room I went straight into the family room and slept on the couch. It wasn’t particularly comfortable, but it was a lot better than going in and being grabbed by the fingers.
