You can't call it bullying if it was the guy's idea, can you?
Okay, maybe not exactly his idea, but Liam one hundred percent consented to everything. He never complained. He never pulled away. He never said no. He just did as he was told.
That's why we called him puppet.9Please respect copyright.PENANAxPWfSxrDxO
Of course, he looked like a natural target: high ears, extra short, weirdly thin, those same lime-green pants every day, some random faded thrift-store t-shirt, and that squeaky voice. He would have been bullied anyway,.
But like I said, he asked for it. Literally. On the very first day of school, before anyone had a chance to target him.
He came up to me randomly at nutrition for the first time.
"I'm Liam," he said. I looked at him, annoyed. I thought he was trying to be friends, and I wanted nothing to do with him. Aside from his weird looks, he had a vaguely bathroom pee smell. He was also so small, I figured he was at least two grades below me.
But he persisted.
"What's your name?"
I ignored him and he glanced at my notebook on the table in front of me.
"Hi, Aaron."
"What do you want?" I finally asked him,
He seemed to smile slightly that I'd talked to him.
"My name is Liam, and I will do everything you tell me."
Then he stared.
"Good," I said, "Then get away from me."
Without the slightest hesitation, he turned and walked away.
I had no idea that was the beginning of the extremes he would go to. That first day, he was focused on one thing: spreading the word.
I heard it from Dennis first, then Alicia, Mark, and David. Really, Liam had approached pretty much everyone and told them the same thing.
He's marked himself as some sort of weird kid, but nobody yet had an idea how weird.
We would all know by the end of the second day.
