A decrepit, rough apartment. A man in a leather jacket and jeans walks out of said apartment. He walks out to the busy streets of New York City. The man walks down the colorful streets as friends talk to each other. He reaches an abandoned warehouse and he goes through one of the garages. Inside the warehouse is a group of people gathering around a table.
“What is this about, Kearney?” One of them asks, arms crossed.
“I told you not to call me that,” Kearney responds, “Kearney is weak.” Kearney approaches the table and slams both hands on it. “On that note, this is about a plan. We’re going to have New York right under our thumb after this.”
“Is that really such a good idea?” Another of them asks.
“Hear me out,” Kearney pulls a Daily Bugle newspaper from his leather jacket pocket, he flips the page and puts it on the table, “we are going to rob Oscorp Industries and to do that we need money.” The crew is shocked, Kearney points at the article on the newspaper about an Oscorp that discusses a super soldier serum, “So we can rob stores around the city, and then we have the money to get what we need.”
“What about the cops, or, the Spider?” A crew member points out.
“Exactly, if we do them stealthy enough then it will be unlikely for either of them to show up. Say, you knock out the worker, take their uniform, and get the cash smoothly. One of us orchestrates the times and picks up the cash. I will rob one loud and dumb, this will draw out the cops and Spider-Man. If I give my bag to the car, then the driver can give me a bag that looks just like it and we’ll be off scott-free. Plus, we can maybe pay off a R.A.F.T. security guard to let Adrian Tooms tire the ol’ webhead out.”
“That seems like a lot of luck.” One of the crew members states, hand on his chin.
“Well, what all do we have to lose?” Kearney moves away from the newspaper and walks out of the garage. Before he walks away, he turns to one of the crew members, “Sam,” Kearney asks, “are you going to be okay with driving?”
“Sure, man.” Sam responds before exiting through the garage with Kearney and starts to walk with him, “So, if Kearney’s off the table, then what should we call you?” Sam asks, lightheartedly.
“Not sure, I’m sure I’ll come up with one.” Kearney responds,
“Well, think about it.”
“Alright, Sam.” The duo continue to walk down New York’s streets, blending in to the crowd perfectly.
Much later, Kearney stands in an alley alone as the people of New York not even pay him attention. He wears all black. His flip phone starts to vibrate and play a basic ringtone. Kearney takes out the phone and flips it open.
“You’re on.” Sam says over the phone, Kearney hangs up and breaks the flip phone in two. Kearney drops it on the ground, he takes a mask out of his pocket and slips it over his face. He starts walking out of the hallway, stepping on the flip phone in the process. He walks across the corner and approaches a convenience store.
Kearney slips into the store. He walks straight over to the cashier and points the gun in her face.
“Put the money in the bag,” Kearney yells as he throws a bag at her, “now!” He turns around and sees one of the customers trying to crawl out, Kearney turns the gun to him. “Don’t you even think about it.” Kearney says in a deep, sinester voice. Suddenly, police sirens blare in the background. Kearney looks around and sees someone on the phone, hiding behind an aisle. He shoots a warning shot at him and he drops the phone, screaming. On top of the sirens, Kearney hears a loud ding. He turns his attention back to the cashier as she puts the money in the bag. She puts it on the counter and puts her hands behind her head. “Pleasure doing business with you.” Kearney grabs the bag and walks outside the store. A black car is parked on the curb, he knocks on the window and Sam lets it down.
“Did you get it?” Sam asks, Kearney chuckles and hands Sam the bag.
“Of course I did.” Sam hands Kearney an identical bag. Sam drives off as a police car shows up. The two cops get out of the car and pull out their weapons.
“NYPD, put your hands up!” One of them yells at Kearney. Kearney, however, looks around not even paying attention to the cops. The cops look at each other in confusion. Suddenly, a red and blue figure swings through the sky. Although the sun is making it hard to see the figure, Kearney watches him with a slight smile. The figure flips and lands on the ground, it’s none other than New York’s defender, Spider-Man. Kearney then drops his gun and the bag, getting on his knees and puts his hands behind his head.
The cops, even more confused, move toward Kearney and puts him in handcuffs.
“Really?” Spider-Man jokingly asks, “You drag me all the way out here just to surrender? You know, I actually have somewhere to be so just come on.” Spider-Man starts a swing back where he came.
“Yeah, this is unnecessary paperwork.” One of the cop says as he takes him to the police car, Kearney’s smile only get’s bigger.125Please respect copyright.PENANA3B4n3v0GtF
