Back in the day, I held my first job. It was not quite a typical job - rather, it was a job on a pirate ship! The Captain was a one-legged man who got around using a crutch, and he had a parrot perched on his shoulder. His name was Long John Silver. He was smart and cared for his men but was also very cunning.

One day, everybody was surprised at what Long John Silver did – he discovered wealth in the form of a treasure map which was secreted away on a remote island. But instead of keeping the treasure map for himself he chose to share it with the crew. So, he emphasized cryptically, “We’ll find this treasure together!” Everyone yelled in delight and even the parrot yelled, ‘Treasure! Treasure!’

The quest for the treasure was filled with shit. There were hurricanes, adversary vessels and even an enormous whale that put chills to the crew! But the pirates made sure to always keep Long John Silver on board. He was clever enough to keep guiding people and kind enough to resolve every issue.

In the end, they arrived at the island. They excavated until they unearthed a chest brimming with gold coins, a collection of trinkets, and peculiar antique maps. Alden then said, Long John Silver said, “Let us divide it evenly. Every one of us gets a portion of the bounty.”

Subsequently, Long John Silver resolved to abandon the life of a pirate. He built a quaint tavern along the coast into which wanderers entered to listen to him. Everybody was captivated by his stories of treasure maps, tempests, and amiable pet birds. Now that he is not a pirate, everyone remembers but everyone still called him Captain Silver.
