"Haha! We did it, that's a win for the team!" the hero cried, leaping up and throwing a fist into the air as the stunned demons lay on the ground, "I didn't even have to channel light energy for these guys!"
Suddenly the necklace the undaunted warrior wore began to glow, and a voice echoed from the other side, "Remind me to not disguise my telecommunications device as an earring again!"
"Oh, sorry about that, Ray." the heroic girl apologized, wincing a bit as she realized how loud she was, "Anyway, I'm gonna summon your power again, the girls are all still trapped in the magic crystal things."
"Well...that isn't what the sage said would happen...unless...Jessie, get out of there, we were too late this time!" Ray cried, the sound of him falling onto the airship's floor was followed by a loud rumble as the ground beneath the heroine quaked, and the altar glowed, black with a faint silver ring to contain it, as though it was being contained in this realm of darkness, and from the black hole emerged a girl with a scythe and clothes that reminded Jessie of Ray for some reason.
"I think your 'too late' is a little too late, too!" Jessie added, giggling a little as her brother growled at her from the other side. She ran to the girl and pointed at the altar, "Hey, you came from there, right?"
"I-I think so...wow...what am I doing with this thing?!" the girl swung the scythe in her hands and Jessie managed to duck and avoid it, "Ah, it's sharp on this end?"
"Yeah...something tells me we're both confused!" Jessie laid a hand on the crystal the priestess of fire was in, and tried using an ice spell, followed by fire, and after that failed she used magic to drain the crystal's energy, she struck the magic wall with hr blade but nothing worked, "Ugh, I hate when there's no obvious solution to these kinds of things...I probably need an item or something...maybe it has to be artificial magic?"
The girl with a scythe watched curiously as the hero used a rock that summoned a blast of fire, and grabbed a handful of snow and tossed it at the prison the fire priestess was stuck in, "Maybe you have to kill me?"
"Eh? I-I don't see how that would work at all!" Jessie looked around the altar for a switch, and pressed every side of every pillar there, "There's gotta be something here we can use! Huh--ah!"
The mysterious girl grabbed Jessie by the arm sleeve and ran off the edge of the floating island with her. They looked up to see a swarm of nightmarish creatures fly past them, "Venomwings!"
"Y-Yeah...what about...what's below this?" Jessie deadpanned as she looked over at her falling companion.
"Oh...well, don't worry about that!" she suddenly sprouted dark feathered wings and with a powerful flap, the pair flew off from the island.
"Hey, there, land there!" Jessie instructed, pointing at the airship some distance under and ahead of them.
"Is that a floating rock under your enchantment?"
"It's an airship, but it is ours!" she beamed as the airship grew closer to them, "I'm Jessie, by the way, my brother's flying that airship, his name's Ray, then there's Jacob then knight, Juliet the archer, Romeo the dark knight, Sarah the dancer, and me, an adventurer who was given the title of Hero after pushing back demonic forces and saving the elemental priestess! And then they got captured again...these demons must really want their vampire boss back!"
"And you just invited her to stay over without my knowledge?!" Ray slapped himself in the face after hearing all of Jessie's report.
"Yup, not like you can just send her back, right? I mean, she's clearly a mage like you, maybe even a member ancient group of mages that used magic in a manner long since forgotten! She's been in there so long, she can't even remember her own name!" Jessie clasped her hands together pleadingly and her brother held his hands up, "That's the 'Fine, do whatever you want' hand toss, right?!"905Please respect copyright.PENANAviRsyUh5Pu
"Right...just keep her from getting into everything, I still think she's a demon spy, I mean, you can't just tell me she fell from the sky and expect me to just believe that out of hand!"905Please respect copyright.PENANAXuHkRfDYTv
"Yeah, but she didn't fall out of the sky...she walled out of a portal that led to her prison!" Jessie pointed out, wondering if she had left that out the first time, "She appeared on the altar, I saw the whole thing, I was there!"905Please respect copyright.PENANA56mjoE1iul
"Yes...but was that prison built by humans or demons? That answer will explain her past much better than she can...perhaps she's even the vampire lord. I don't about you, but I'm having a garlic bath tonight!" 905Please respect copyright.PENANAXhad8ZIZ4z
"Ew, TMI, bro!" she sighed as Ray went back to his room and shut the door slowly so he didn't slam it. He wasn't angry, just paranoid...she couldn't blame him, there was never any telling when someone was an enemy general in disguise, all a demon has to do is just be believable when they offer help. She sighed and turned back to their guest, who was hanging out with the other four of their team. 905Please respect copyright.PENANAprdb6DWw2O
Maybe she was dangerously naive, but she had a good feeling that the new member was at least connected to the vampire lord's altar, whether or not she was lying or telling the truth couldn't be proven just yet, but there was no doubt in her mind that she could help them recover the elemental priestesses, before it was too late.905Please respect copyright.PENANAXUg6DgYhgQ
