A/N: I’m…not entirely sure where this is coming from, or where it’s going to go. I saw the cover art.
and I just felt inspired to write this. It’s a bit nsfw, so- if you don’t like that sort of thing, don’t read. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. The picture doesn’t belong to me, either.
"What the hell is that?!“ she screamed, dropping her duffel-bag as she backed away from the room.
She stared at the hulking beast, only a two-inch pane of glass separating the two of them. Its large hands and dark snout were smashed against the window, fogging the glass. Red markings were drawn on the right side of its muscular chest, she highly doubted the marks were made by the researchers of the facility. She watched in disgust as drool slid down the glass, trickling slowly from the behemoth’s tongue.
"His name is Prometheus,” Doctor Wilhelm replied “and, I might add- your roommate for the next six months.”
"Wh-What?“ she stammered, staring at the doctor in horror "I-I- didn’t sign up for this!”
"Yes, you did, Miss Winston,“ Wilhelm stated, flipping through a thick stack of papers attached to his clipboard "the contract you signed gives us complete control over which experiment you partake in, and is ’…subject to change at or before time of signage…’.”
Her knees shook, and she felt sick to her stomach.
"No…please, god…“ she moaned, clutching her stomach.
Glancing at Wilhelm, she found him staring at her in sympathy.
"Don’t put me in there, with…with that…” she pleaded.
"We need the data, and you were the best applicant.“ he replied, shaking his head.
"But…but…”
"We’re giving you two hours to get used to things, and then we’re going to be placing you in the experiment- do you understand?“
She nodded weakly, still feeling as if she was going to pass out.
"Good, now- let’s finish the tour, shall we? Then we can get you settled.”
Picking up her suitcase, she nodded shakily, taking ragged breaths as she glanced back at the wolf-man one last time.
It had drawn as smiley face in the haze of its breath on the glass.
The two hours has sped by, as quick as a bullet. A bullet would’ve ended her anxiety, however. Her bag slung over her shoulder, she took a deep breath as Doctor Wilhelm helped her into the air-lock-like space.
"You’ve no need to worry about him hurting you.“ Wilhelm stated, only succeeding in making her worry more "We’ll be monitoring you daily- if anything happens, we only need a few seconds to get here.
"He’s…hurt people? There’ve been people before me?” she questioned.
The doctor only closed the hatch, forcing her to quake in fear as she was submerged in darkness. The hatch on the other side of the small enclosure hissed and open with a screech. She winced and covered her ears as it opened, revealing-
-what appeared to be a perfectly normal living room.
Odd…she’d half-expected the mammoth to jump out at her the very moment she entered the room.
"H-Hello?“ she called, nervous as hell.
She entered the living room, and the door closed behind her. That was it, she was trapped in here…for six months. With him.
Taking a deep breath, she set her bag next to the couch, which was facing a slightly-less-than-modern television set. Setting herself on the couch, she crossed her legs, waiting patiently for her first meeting with Prometheus.
Low footsteps sounded from the hall, the mouth of which next to a good sized kitchen. Butterflies flitted in her stomach as her nerves took over, fear and excitement racing through her mind.
"Usually, the volunteers are begging to get out, by now.” he stated, his low baritone making her teeth vibrate just the tiniest bit.
“O-Oh?” she replied, shaking in her boots.
He nodded.
“Indeed- now, I believe you know my name, but I do not know yours.”
She stood, smoothing her knee-length skirt as she did so. Glancing up, she discovered Prometheus to be about two whole heads taller than her- maybe more.
“S-Sarah W-Winston, sir.” she stammered.
He laughed, booming like thunder as a large hand came down to rest on her shoulder. She felt as if she’d snap in half if he pressed down too hard.
“We’re going to be seeing a lot of each other in the next few months, Sarah- way I see it, there’s no need to be that formal!”
“Oh, uh, of course!” she half-agreed.
It took her only moments to realize that Prometheus was very much naked, and given her close proximity to his body…
She coughed into her hand, blushing as she stared directly at his face, not looking anywhere else, lest she embarrass herself further.
“So, anything you’d like to drink?” he asked, removing his hand from her shoulder as he walked to the kitchen.
She unconsciously watched his tail sway back and forth from behind him as a lump grew in her throat.
“Ah, yes, please.” she replied, heading to the kitchen.
‘I think I’m going to need it…’
A/N: That about does it for this one, more to come soon (maybe). Please read, comment, and review- I’d like to know how I’m doing.
