The wind was really cool and the night was really lonely, moving in such a big city to live alone can really make you lonely. I did this because life…..
Sudden brakes applied on the road took my attention there was an accident. I was walking on the foot-path at that time and this took my attention. I walked up o there to find a crowd forming there, a golden haired puppy was the victim.
When I was young, I used to have a dog that died in such an accident. I felt a connection to him and didn’t want to leave him. I took him up not caring about the dress which I just bought last week and stopped a taxi and sat in passenger seat. Behind was a young man, which was really attractive and was looking kindly to the puppy. I quickly asked driver to drive to the vet. But he started to look at the man on back-seat.
He acknowledged the look and replied, “No worries. I can be late but the puppy cannot afford it.” That was the end. We drove to the hospital with a sick silence.
As soon as we reached there I took him up and walked out even before I could pay the driver he got out and paid for me. We didn’t talk a bit when we reached there the puppy became an emergency case and was quickly taken to O.T. I was praying for him with my whole heart and was being consoled by the man I never knew because I was crying for a pup I have met just hours before.
After long wait of ages the doctor finally came out, we were sitting at the waiting chairs till that moment as soon as he came out he asked for the owner and both of us ran to him. Don’t know how but this person got to know that I will not be able to speak he did it for me.
“Yes, doctor we are the owner of that little pup…. Gold. How is he now?” he asked holding my hand tightly in the case it was a bad news.
“Well Gold is really lucky because he could have died because of blood loss but you guyz were on time. Well how did the accident happen?”
“Actually he is really naughty as soon as we took t chain off he ran on the road and a car was coming with full speed. The rest is in front.” I replied this time. I didn’t want doctor to think that the pet have no one.
Even if it means that you imposed the look of being a couple with a man you don’t know.
This made me realize that he was still firmly holding my hand and that we are the owner of the doctor.
I looked into him and he quickly left my hand. We together went into meet the pup that was now sleeping. Even though I know he is not listening or understanding I started to talk to him.
“You know Gold . you should had to be more careful. Can ever thick what would have happened if I and ……” I looked at his direction. “Alex….” He smiled to me while telling his name.
“Well if I and Alex would not have been there to save you.” I completed my sentence then something struck he paid for both- taxi and hospital.
Even before I could ask what was the cost he replied, “Don’t even think that I will take any money back from you. How can I not help such a pretty lady with heart of Gold besides I aloes love dogs.”
“But Alex… you know. I-I just don’t want to feel I imposed it on you.”
“Then miss?” he looked at me with curious eyes.
“Candy.” He smiled again which had the charm believe me anyone could fall for.
“Them Miss Candy let me take you on dinner.”
“But-” he cut me off.
“No buts Candy you will be coming with me tomorrow on dinner at 8 pm as for now. Gold will be id-charged in few hours allow me to take you home.”
As he said he called a taxi and took us to home. We changed our phone number on the way so could contact if there will be a change in the plan.
I made Gold sleep on the couch did my usual routine and went to bed.

The next started with me waking at the sound of pups pleading of me to get up. I got up smiling for the first time in ages and I was looking forward to today. I took him on a walk which was really difficult without a leash and bought that and food for him on the way.
After coming back I gave him his food took a bath and made delicious scrambled eggs as breakfast for myself. And leaved for the office, even though I wished to complete it all before the time. A lot more work was deposited on me and I texted Alex I will not be able to come.
After a tiring day in hand I walked to the home as usual with a wish to see ready dinner, when I got back I saw lightening in my house and a table of food was set up there with a person who was standing in such a way that I was only facing the back. When I walked to him I could see him wearing gorgeous pair of formal court.
When he acknowledged me he turned his face with a charming smile on the face.
“Alex what is this?” Happiness was evident in my tone.
“Well pay-back. Now I have also set up dinner for Gold. Please open the door so he could come out running and enjoy today’s night with us.”
I did as he said and he was true Gold came out running with a wagging tail which showed he was also really very happy.
As three of us did our dinner a peaceful silence settled between us. After a while I saw that Alex was staring at me with concentrated eyes.
“Is there something on my face Alex?” I asked.
“Well yes a little food is there on your face.” He tried to tell me by placing his hand on his face. Even after trying a lot I could not wipe it off according to Alex. He leaned into me with a teasing smile and wiped it off. But his touch gave me a sudden spark.
I lost myself in his eyes. They are really pretty in-fact he is too handsome his touch is really gentle suddenly my eyes flickered to his lips. Soft pink rosy lips, my lips were begging to feel his. I looked at his eyes to found that they were fixed on my lips.
I found my lips drying and licked it and then he slowly started to lean in I was going towards him but then Gold suddenly barked taking us out of the moment.
I looked around to find some people going on the lane with full commando made. Alex pulled me and Gold inside the table with his swift hands.
“Do you know them?” I whisper-yelled.
He simply nodded to this.
“Who are they? What are they doing here? And why are we hiding from them? Don’t tell me you committed a crime-”
“Believe me I am running away from them but not because of a crime…”
“Then why are we hiding Alex?”
“I promise I will tell you but not at the moment.”
“But Alex-” he cut me off by placing his finger on my lips.
“Shhh I will tell you what is wrong. Will you stay silent for now?” I nodded.
And he took his finger off and then finally I could breath. I forgot to breathe because of his touch.
“Bu-” he cut me off again this time by placing his lips on mine.
His lips were electric and much better than any-other kiss I ever had. It made me feel I was on fire and I forgot everything else in the world other than his lips.
He broke the kiss soon after that which left me dumb-struck what just happened.
After a while he looked out and told me that they are not here and we can come out. I took Gold in my hands and came out. He then took the lead and walked to the house. After looking around for few minutes he took out a big travelling back.
“Staying here alone is not safe for you nor me. It will be better if we stick together and you help me around with my job here. Pack up we will not be here for few days.” I wanted to ask what it was but his eyes were really hurt and pained I could not just force any words to come out of my mouths.
He switched off the light and asked me to keep all the cash as we will not be able to use any card afterwards.
After packing up my bag which contained all the important things for Gold too we came out of the house and locked it. Because of switching the light off it was really dark now.
He took his bag out of bushes, “Candy do you know any bus-stop which is near to this place and have no cameras.” I nodded gave him Gold’s leash and took t lead. He simply followed me.
None of us dared to say anything until we reached the bus-stop.
“Is there any bus which goes to Dell city.” As soon as he said name of the city I was lost, my heart started to beat faster as the memories of that place came rushing back. I wanted to get lost but rather I replied him.
“Well, it is in another corner of the country and we are on other, there is no direct bus but we can change them and reach there.” He was a little surprise but nodded instead of saying anything.
We stood on the near empty bus, because it was night-shift and no one travels at this time other than those who wish to be invisible to the world. This one contained some really burglar looking people. All of them were seated at back so we sat on the first seat near the door.
“When will we have to change the bus?”
“At Cope town.” I replied in a tired voice.
“I see that you and Gold both are tired. I suggest you get a little sleep.”
“But what about you?”
“I am used to it.” These are the last words what I heard before diving into the pool of darkness with Gold on my lap.

“Bu-but aunt, I will be a really good girl. Please don’t let him do this. It-it hurts at my that area.”
“Well we don’t have another option your father and mother died and didn’t leave us a bit of money. But he left you so please be a good girl and help your aunty in the business.” She replied as usual in drunk voice.
Then she asked me to go to my room and un-dress myself while she will be sending someone else.
I simply walked to the room and closed it from behind. No use it don’t have any knob. More tears started to spill out as I looked at the picture of me and my parents at a family trip.
Suddenly someone came in. I turned around to find another middle-aged man with lust filled eyes.
“What is your name babe?” he asked in evidently drunk voice.
“”Can-Candace.” I replied in my stumbling voice.
“Well Candace I am her to take some sample and if I liked it I will buy you. Now be a good girl and un-dress yourself. I want to look at your body.” I shook my head.
He became angry to this and slapped me hard. “I ordered you to do something and you didn’t….. at first I thought I will be easy but now forget it.”
He then threw me on the bed and assaulted me even more badly whereas all the time I could only plead him to let me go. But he only found pleasure in it. The whole night I was crying as-usual and pleading to one of my buyers to leave me.

Someone shook me so badly that took me out of my nightmare. When I woke-up I realized that I was crying because of my nightmare and Alex and Gold both were worried for me. As soon as I realized that it was nightmare I hugged Alex tightly and from the corner of my eyes could see Gold happily wagging his tail.
After a while I let go of him.
“Are you fine Candy?” I nodded because I was sure my voice will come out shaky.
“Well the next bus from Cope-town is not leaving for the next 3 hours and this bus will be standing here itself. Let’s just go and freshen up a bit we will have break-fast then.”
We walked to a cheap hotel then after re-freshing ourselves we checked-out as soon as possible. Then we went to a nearby restaurant and took our break-fast there while this while I suddenly look out of the window behind the Alex and looked at same Commando type people.
“Alex…” I tried to keep my face natural so that even if they look at me they do not become suspicious.
He nodded sensing the vibe of my voice.
“Well the people from yesterday are just behind you.” I replied trying to keep a misleading smile.
“We will walk from the door behind you. You are doing great Candy keep that look and they will never recognize who we are.” I nodded, his words and his trust calmed me down.
And after that I took Gold’s leash and walked out after paying our bill as we planned.
“Alex we can’t directly go to Dell looks like they have idea that you will be going there.” He nodded and asked, “So now?”
“We will have to take a little de-route but I am sure it will be much safer, if we take t bus to Monant then take a complete circle we can enter Dell from forest area.” I explained it to him.
“But looks like we have to hurry according to my phone it will be leaving in 15 minutes.” He said and we ran to catch the bus. After running to the bus-stop and running after the bus for 5 minutes we finally could get up on it and after taking tickets we sat on the seat.
And again after sitting in our seats and I took Gold in my lap the whole environment around us became sad.
After actually ignoring each-other for next 1 hour we both turned to look at each-other at the same time.
“You know…”
“We will go crazy if we didn’t have to know…”
“Why are you going there… and running away from those people.”
“And how do you know even tiniest detail of that place.” We both sighed in defeat.
“Actually Candy don’t be surprised but I am the prince of this place called Savara. My mother is from this Dell place but-” he took a deep breath before continuing his painful story, “my parents were never married. My mother was on a trip of our palace when my parents fell in love, they made love and she became pregnant, after my birth because of my grand-parents they fought with each-other and left me alone at that cruel palace. She was in pain because she had to leave me. But she left a diary for me and her last wish is to see me one last time.”
“My grand-parents could never permit it so I ran away and on the way stumbled upon you. I have been planning my escape for a while and because of that bought a phone with completely fake id saved money. I just want to see my mother once. Just once…. And then I will go back and rule their country.”
It was clear from the look of his eyes he truly only wanted this but they are not even leaving him alone. He looked at me with meaningful eyes.
“Well Dell is my hometown.” I replied turning my gaze.
“Is that whole truth Candy? You know you can totally believe me with anything…..” and then he said something under his breath. Call it a great co-incidence but Gold barked at same time and he used it in his favor.
“Even he agrees so…”
I closed my eyes and sank into the seat, “I was 5 when my parents died in a car-accident. I was saved but because of my poor luck I was saved and given to my aunt. My aunt was a money-minded alcoholic whore behind her lovely aunt façade and forced me to be one also.” I could only manage to say this much and even after a lot more of trying I started to cry but continued, “I-I was 18 when I ran away from here after completing my high-school. I chose the university at next corner to study and then started to live there.”
After completing my story I opened my eyes to look at sad Gold down my lap and Alex with his eyes full of concern. I completely turned to Alex and smiled sadly. He pulled me into a huge hug, it was heart-warming and safest place to say.
Yes I like this person with me, actually shoot like, I love him since the time he was there for me without even knowing who am I?
“You know what I will never let anyone hurt you.” He whispered in my ear causing more tears to fall but these were of joy.
Gold’s bark which sounded annoyed because we left him caused us to break our hug and laugh.
After 15 hours trip we finally reached Dell at around 12o’clock of night. We decided to first face my aunt, so we walked to her and knocked it.
As usual it was filled with alcoholic smell but when she opened it the unusual thing was. Her house was in no state as 8 years ago it was really unstable and broken, what can one say……
It was clear from her gaze that she didn’t recognize me but the look of her house frightened me but before it could reach my heart Alex held my hand and Gold bark motivating me. their this gesture warmed my heart and encouraged me.
“Aunt… don’t you remember me, Candace, your biggest source of income.”
“Candace…” her voice sounded evil, the voice which used to send chills down my spine.
“Don’t even try to do that. You took my whole child-hood you placed fear to the core but now I am not anymore. And I am just here to tell you that I am not afraid of you anymore and one more thing don’t you have any more customer for here.” With that taunt I turned around to face Alex and in front of my aunt I pulled him into a kiss. It was to show that I was really glad and grateful towards him and after breaking it I knelt and patted Gold’s head and then we walked out of there.
After asking from an old neighbor we got to know that his mother is no more and that she will be found sleeping peacefully in her grave. We walked to there to see those commando’s standing there, he move back a little it was time to payback him.
“I will be there for you, let’s meet your mother once” I said holding his hand, “look at Gold even he is there for you…. And us….” I muttered last two words to myself.
With a smile on my face and a look of affection in his eyes we walked past the commando’s to the grave where a person was kneeling in front of her grave and was asking for forgiveness while crying. It was clear Alex recognized him, he left my hand and ran to him,
“Dad are you fine, don’t make my mother sad she already forgave you. She wrote she knew that you loved her and-and it was just a trick played by your parents. She know it.”
“But even you deserve my apology son.” He replied becoming a little sober after his break-down session.
“I do not you was just afraid, everyone is…. right?” he turned and asked me.
“Yes.” I replied.
And now only he realized that someone else was also there. But Alex turned to his mother and started to talk him.
“Mother you asked me to visit here I am a little late but I am, you asked me you would also like to meet your daughter-in-law, well she is here but she is still not my wife, so…..” he turned to look at me and called my name, “Candy I know I never officially asked you this but you have been there with in this whole trip and I wished to make you my wife the moment I first saw you with Gold so…” he stopped for a second, which seemed longest in entire history, “Will you marry me? If it is yes then please come, meet and take blessings from mother.”
Was it to be told, I love him, care him, even though we have known each-other only for a little bit of time, we trust each-other. I ran to Alex and his family racing with Gold. After reaching upon there I took Gold in my hand and talked to his mother and father at the same time, “Hello sir-mam I am Candy.”
Alex’s father laughed at this, “Don’t be so formal dear, you will be our daughter after marrying my this lucky child. You can call us Jake and Jane. Well how did you guyz meet, Alex was only out for a little time.”
“Well how about you yourself talk to him here he is.” I said giving Jake Gold in his hands.
“Oh, so just like Jane and me you guyz met because of a naughty little pup.” We both nodded to eat and burst out laughing as Jake described what happened with him and Jane. Who knows where our story can be ended after my marriage with Alex a year later or after our first child 2 years later or…..
