Aylin Raze was never a fan of outdoor activities.
She grumbled as she smacked her head on the small table.
“Do you still feel sick, sweetie?” her mother asked in concern, but Aylin felt her mood worsen.
“Obviously! Ugh! This is why I didn’t want to come!” she complained as she raised her head. She looked pale, and felt a terrible headache. Luckily, her mother was prepared and gave her some pills, so she felt a bit better than before.
Currently, Aylin was going with her family on a cruise ship tour around Europe. It wasn’t a usual occurrence, since her family is not particularly rich, however, her mother won the tickets in some shopping event, or so she was told. Of course, everyone was joyful about this.
Except for her.
Aylin hated going outside in general. She was so happy about her vacation after a difficult school year as an eighth grader, and looked forward to long rest at home, either sleeping, playing games and reading novels. Her hopes were crushed when she learned that they would go on this tour, and she knew she had no choice but to go with everyone. To make things worse, she just learned that she would get sea-sick easily. She sighed, lamenting her terrible luck.
“Hey, Linny, they’re selling ice-cream over there. Let’s go and buy some! Dad gave me money, so I’LL be paying!”
Aylin’s younger sister, Ann, called her. Aylin was 13, while Ann was 11, which makes her more energetic than her older sister. Being in a sorry state, Aylin shouted:
“Go away! Can’t you see I’m sea-sick? I can’t eat anything right now, so no thank you!”
“You don’t have to shout! I was just trying to be nice!” Ann shouted back, and ran away towards the ice-cream shop.
“Ann!”
The one who called Ann was their father. He looked sternly at Aylin before going after Ann.
“I’m going sleep”
“Aylin, you must apologize to your sister. You shouldn’t have shouted at her like that”
“Mum, I’m sick and tired, and it’s all thanks to you dragging me on this trip. So apologizing can wait until I feel better, because I don’t even have the energy to feel guilty, alright?”
“Aylin!”. Aylin didn’t glance at her angry mother, and left quickly.
