Richard woke up as usual to his alarm clock beeping loudly. he snapped his fingers and opened a portal under it. Sending it to outside the base.
He closed his eyes and tried to go back to sleep when suddenly he remembered something.
"CRAP!" he muttered. "I completely forgot that I have a date with Liliana!"
Then another thing hit him. He'd also forgotten to get flowers and the gift he'd planned. Not to mention that he was taking her to Paris that night. Not that he'd told her that. He'd meant it to be a surprise. He'd just told her he had something special planned for today which was valentines day.
Training had as usual made him forget other stuff. And now he was in a jam.
"I am going to need help," he said. "And I know exactly who to ask."

"Let me get this straight," said Camron. "You need me to take you back in time so you can get a girl a gift that you forgot to get. Am I right?"
"Yes," said Richard. "And even with my ability to teleport I can't get it today because it requires a weeks time to prepare from purchase."
Camron sighed. "If I do this you owe me one."
"Well you already owe me one for saving your butt in that training exercise. And for teleporting you and Shari to-"
"Alright. I get it," Camron cut in. "We'll call it even."
"Alright," said Richard. "Let's go shopping.
Richard grabbed Camron's arm and teleported them to the edge of the base. There they walked through the anti-teleportation shield.
"We'll go back one week," said Camron. "You'll order your thing then we come back. Understood?"
"Crystal clear," said Richard. He wasn't going to screw this up.
Camron nodded. He grabbed Richard's arm. "Let's go."
The world around them vanished and they reappeared in the exact same spot only two weeks ago.
Richard instantly teleported them to where he needed to go: Taichan's Custom Jewelry and Flower Shop.
They appeared in the foyer of the shop and walked in. The person behind the counter looked up. "What can I do for you, gentlemen?" he asked in a polite voice.
"I'm looking for a custom made piece of jewelry," said Richard. He pulled out a thumb drive and slid it across the counter.
The man picked up the thumb drive and slid it into his computer. he opened the file and inspected it.
"I'll need a week to make this," he said. "Payment up front."
Richard nodded. "How much?"
"fifteen hundred."504Please respect copyright.PENANAdXedJnyM8c
"And a bouquet of roses?"
"I'll throw those in for free."
"Deal." Richard pulled out his debit card. This would cost him half of this month's pay but given the fact that he rarely spent any money this was neglegible.
They were just about to leave when a man in black walked in. His head covered by a ski mask.504Please respect copyright.PENANAFkB8bSLrsv
"Hands in the air!" he yelled as he pointed a pistol at them.
Richard put his hands in the air then snapped his fingers. his assault rifle fell into his hands and he snapped his fingers again. He appeared behind the thief. His assault rifle pressed into the guy's back.
"I wouldn't move if I were you," he said gently. "I would hate for my gun to go off and cook you."
"W-who are y-you," stammered the thief as Camron took his pistol. "You can't be human."
"I am human," Richard assured him. "Just modified. Camron, I think it's safe to say we should turn this guy over to the PPF, eh?"504Please respect copyright.PENANAX03NiPjfHy
"They're already on their way," the shopkeeper assured them. "If you'll give me his pistol I'm quite confident I can keep him here."
Richard snapped his fingers again. This time he pulled out a set of handcuffs. He tossed them to Camron. "I think he won't be going anywhere."
Camron nodded and handcuffed the guy's hands behind his back then gave the pistol to the shopkeeper.
"To thank you for your help I am bumping your commission to the top of the prioirty list," said the shopkeeper. "It will be ready in three days."
"Thank you," said Richard. "We'll be back then."
Together him and Camron walked out of the shop.
"Let's go," said Camron as he took Richard's forearm in his hand. The world shimmered around them then stabilized. They were in front of the shop in a torrent of rain. Richard teleported them inside the shop to find the shopkeep waiting for them.
"Precisely on time," said the shopkeep as he put a small box and a bouquet of white roses on the counter. "As a token of my gratitude I made your commission of the highest quality."504Please respect copyright.PENANAi4iggVPQIb
Richard opened the box and looked inside. Nestled on a bed of red velvet was a necklace with a silver pendent inset with a diamond and an emerald cut and fitted together to look as if they were two halves of one stone.
"Thank you," he said.
"You're welcome," said the shopkeep. "If you ever need anything here again we'll be happy to serve you."

"Alright," said Camron once they were back in the present and the base. "You have your stuff. We're even."
"I guess so," agreed Richard. "Now if you'll excuse me I have a girl to meet."
Richard teleport himself back to his room to change out of his clothes which were soaked from the downpour they'd stood in before he'd teleported them out of it.
he quickly changed into black jeans and a grey t-shirt. He threw a leather jacket on and looked at his reflection in the window.
"You sir," he said. "Look nervous as all hell."
Which was true. He'd never gone on a date before. His parents had died when he was twelve and he'd been too busy surviving to worry about girls.
"You'll do fine," he told himself. "What could possibly go wrong?"
With him? A lot.
Slipping the box into his pocket and picking up the roses he closed his eyes and disappeared from his room.

Richard stood in front of Liliana's room and raising his hand, knocked once.
The door opened and Richard had to manually reach up and shut his jaw. Liliana was standing in the doorway. Her tan skin, blonde hair and green eyes perfectly complemented by the white t-shirt and blue jeans she was wearing.
"You look like the reason the bar fight started," said Richard once he got his vocal chords working.
"And you're the reason everyone else joined in," said Liliana wryly. "Are you just gonna stand there or are we going somewhere?"
Richard held out the flowers. She took them. "And?"
He held out his hand and she took it. "You're going to love this," he said as he concentrated and they disappeared.
