Considering how much I have lost and how injured I am now, I can understand, although little, the situation he was in now. Can you even fathom what that must be like? I really hope you don't have that experience but if you do try to progress how Job did and how I am trying. My hardest time I was ready to sin and to do horrible things, but his word was my guiding light. I instead, turned to thanking him for what I did have. Job lost livestock, family, and was even struck with a horrifying condition. But never once did he turn to blaming god, no, never once did he look to curse him but Instead, he cursed his own existence and I can truly understand that feeling now. I hope you can do something for me please. Pray this with me; Dear lord, please give me guidance in these trying times and help me to proceed with what I should do. After prayer, try to look back at a bad time in your life. I'm not saying to re-live it, just think about it. Ok, now thinking about how you reacted and how you blamed during that time. Now, think about all the other aspects of that time. It can be amazing how you will see his power in work now when you couldn't before. Believe in what Solomon says in proverbs 3 5-6. I recently had a dramatic life altering event happen and all I can do is look to God in praise. I take some of my encouragement from his servant Job and I try to make every decision believing in proverbs 3. So, when facing that decision, whether it be if those carrots are ready or if you should really move across the country, then put your trust in our father. He will set a straight path for you to follow and it's up to your faith to do so. So, that life altering, or even small decision can be okay if you put your trust where it belongs. Just accept what's been laid and strive on like he intends.

"Man I suck, I need my wife" I utter while struggling to open a jar without hazard. Like Job, I struggle on a daily. But God, he understands my struggle. He gives me a strength to continue and he gives me the guidance on how to. Job lost everything and still was able to push through. It was hard deciding that my current condition was livable. It is was tough deciding that how I am now is ok. Like job, I instead blame myself and I refuse to curse god. It may have taken awhile and been tough, but I choose to follow the path he laid for me. It can be hard to live in righteousness. It can be hard to live on the side of Justice. But by looking through the trials of Job we can see that it is clearly worth it. That man lost everything from kids to livestock. He was even struck with a disfiguring illness, but still; he did not blame god. In fact, he cursed his own birth before cursing the mighty one. If he can do that in that situation, was it alright for you to curse his graciousness when you stubbed your toe last week. As referred to quite often in scripture, put all your trust, worry, and I'd say feeling into our merciful father. If Job can withstand those trials thanks to his strength, then so can you. God has a plan for you and that light at the end of the tunnel, although hard to see sometimes, can be quite helpful when you turn to it.

Oh man, I only hope we can have that type of strength. I have trouble just standing let alone attempting any action. Job was so disfigured that friends had trouble recognizing him. But he, and I (yay), do not blame our lord. In fact, we refuse to place blame on him and would rather blame and curse ourselves. I hope you can share that faith and strength with job just as I try. Hopefully your wife (or husband, or whatever), and my wife never go that far, and they join us in praising him for what we do have.

My bones broken, and my brain turned to mashed potatoes has me really connecting with job. I won't even lie to people about it, and I find I would rather look a fool than to lie to someone about my issues. For those who don't know, Job lost everything. And by everything, I mean that the keys you misplaced behind your jacket for a week look like nothing. But this man, even after losing everything but his faith, held strong onto his belief in how his lord operates. I may not lie but I can only pray that I can be strong enough to be like that. I pray, as should you, all the time for his guidance. Right after yelling at someone on the street for committing the same mistakes I did I can't help but feel wrong. Although not admitting deceit, I always feel as though I am not being as righteous as I should be. Gods light shines in our tunnel just as it did for job, we just need to be faithful and see it. I begged and pleaded. I needed it now. Friends kept trying to calm me down but then one says, " leave it to God and shut up." Harsh words, but I needed them. I got down and prayed. I prayed for help, guidance, thanks and even forgiveness for not turning to him first. I strengthened my heart in his name and it happened. I didn't need to wait anymore. Keep that waiting my friend. Strengthen and build that courage in your heart. Reread Psalms 27:14 if you must. A friend has said to me often, " Now is quick, eternity is forever." Wait for him and the wait that seems hard now, will pay off in the future. The Lord is very, very, worth it.

I was scared and very distressed when moving. I was scared and very overly distressed about buying a house and selling the current one. But after turning to scripture such as Isaiah 41:10 and some heartfelt prayers, he strengthened me. He helped me be able to relocate well and held me high when selling my house. It was even better because I was able to find a fantastic church I can worship at and the faith I carried seemed to help others. If this was his plan, then I'm glad I remained in faith. This is a reminder to you that he is your god. He will strengthen you and help you on your way. All you need to do is stay faithful on this path.

Oh man, can I really do this? It's what God put in my path to do though. But, if I commit myself to the task and remain faithful, it should work out ok and might even be easy. If we remain faithful, the outcome won't be as bad as we thought it would be. He strengthens us to do what he calls us to do in Christ. So, that mission you have to Africa will end up just being another normal Tuesday thanks to His strength. Just stay true in your faith, the strength you get from him is way more than enough.

I often find myself curious on what I can accomplish as a handicapped person, but he would not have put me here without a plan. This father of ours has worn my shoes and walked this path. He has been down this road before and still tags along to make sure we're ok. He doesn't just tell you to go to the supermarket for milk, he goes with you even after having done it before. I found myself scared of flying as I am, but with him by my side, that fear was quickly extinguished. He is called the foundation for a reason. As it says, in Deuteronomy 31 verse 8 " he has walked this path before and will again with you so don't be scared". That was obviously my rewording, but he has given me this path, so I believe it is alright if I convey the same point. No fear because he is right here and won't leave. Oh man, they call it the gospel for a reason. The news doesn't get much better than that. It was taught to me a while ago that gospel meant good news, but it never occurred to me how important that was. Just looking back at my life, it is obvious how impactful the spirit has been. It is clear how I have been renewed and how Jesus saved me. It is also clear to me that I did not deserve it but received it from his mercy. We as humans are never expected to be perfect, and as Genesis will tell you, we have free will. We choose what to do or say and to not. But, if you confess and repent your sins, then our Merciful Father forgives you. Forgiveness was always a big part in The Good Book, and do you get that now? Like I said, some good news.

Animals can be stressful creatures. They can destroy property and even cause harm. But, did our Lord not create them for a purpose? You don't have kids my friend yells at me. I said yes, I do, two fur babies. My dogs mean so much to me that I wasn't lying. I have learned a great deal of comfort from these beasts. They were essentially my un-trained therapy dogs when I was released from the hospital disabled. My love for them was taught by the love they give me, and it helped me to cope with a great deal. All, that being said, they learned from a certain someone. The word says that God is love and tons of love, grace, and mercy is shown to be limitless. Who better to learn from than the king? I write this even as my kids are curled up next to me making my heart soft, so next time you receive some love from your pet, or even a random pet. Be sure to return some love and thank our lord for the blessing of beasts.

We live in a worry filled world. We constantly stress over worries on health, finance and anything in between. Sometimes this worry can cause us to say no to something. As I was boarding a flight for my first time, worry overcame me. My friend says to me, don't worry, God has your back. Put that worry into the Lord. It helped calm my heart greatly. I was recently given the opportunity to do something new. I rode a bicycle for my first time. My friends, family, and my wife were all worried. Mostly worried because of the chance it could kill me, but the one who should be worried (me), was not. I found myself reflecting on Psalms 3:3 and trying to ride that bike. I rode several times, although hard with a shield. I may have had a hard time, but I refused to let go and I let him lift my head. It may not be easy, and there may seem to be a very long road to him but remember this. He can navigate that path to get to you in a heartbeat and he will be your shield. So, stop all that worry and let him lift your head.

I couldn't help but become the closest to crying as I have been since I lost the ability to. I was distraught until psalm 36:5-6 hit me like a sack of bricks. My mother losing her daughter was hard and me losing a sister was hard but combined with faith in the lord and prayer we can pull through somewhat easily. My biggest worry was about the fact she was a dog. I love her none-the-less though, but I was worried about her going to heaven. That's when it hit me. Although beast, she was a creation of the lord and he saves all. I can't help but smile at the thought of getting a slobbery kiss when I finally walk into the kingdom. So, Sparkle the cat, or that fish, maybe even that hamster you lost growing up; Even though it may be hard now and especially then, remember they are in a better place now. They are giving our lord that love until you arrive so smile and think of the good times instead of the bad.

I chose this in honor of the friends I have. I may not be as righteous as Jesus, but I was taught that my goal should be to become as much like him as possible. The easiest way I've found to do this is with the help of my new brothers and sisters. That beggar you saw the other day, help him. I've learned that not just money helps but also the action of trying to help. Sit with him and chat, help tidy his area, maybe even give him some change for a Snickers. Just taking the time and effort says books. Your friend is being quiet? Take the moment and ask about their life. All you must do is make an honest effort to love one another and John 13:34 has been completed. I'm not asking you to die on a cross for the stranger or friend, I'm simply asking you to devote some time and brighten their day. God brightened yours, so now maybe spread some love.

Paul said it perfectly. I don't know if I can even further shed light on this, but I will try. In the beginning of my new life as a Christian I was heavy into praying; so much that I wrote a booklet of a collection of personal made prayers. This hasn't changed but is easier to understand thanks to Paul in Philippians 4:6-7. I don't know about you but even my family has learned that even the simplest of prayers tend to calm my heart and settle my mind. A lot of things can happen in this day, from fighting with friends and family, financial trouble, death, and even a flat tire. This can all cause us, some things more than others and some people more than others, to become very anxious. But as personal experience and even Paul will state, you need to pray about it. Pray and thank him for everything. Thank him for what he has done, thank him for what he will do, thank him for his presence in your life, even thank him for listening. As I said before, Paul says it perfectly. Pray about it with thanks and the peace of the almighty, the father who gave his son so we my live, will be upon us thanks to the sons very name.

Almost crying, I watch my wife drive off. The love of my life must leave. She must go to work to take care of her loved one's people will say, but this does not make it better. Ephesians 5:25 makes me feel think about how much I love my church and I have even made a memory scrapbook about it so it's always with me. But even though I love the church that much, I love my wife more. As Jesus loved his bride, the church, I love my sweetheart. I even write this while plagued with thoughts of her and I feel so strongly for her. The feeling is so strong that even family and friends know that I would gladly give my life for her. I hope you can say the same. Whether it be a husband, or wife, I hope you experience how great love is. If you are not at that time yet, then give it a little bit. God has a plan for all, and you need to trust his timing. There is not lie in saying he is the good father.

I have been told my story is a good testimony to the love of god so I will do so in one of the most popular verses there is. While in Afghanistan, my second tour of war, my lungs developed large blood clots. Some years later, fully recovered; I developed a TBI (traumatic brain injury). This caused me to have to relearn all tasks. When I say all, I mean being able to sit on the edge of a bed to being able to ride a bike. Seeing a thirty-year-old man trying to learn how to ride a bike like he is a toddler is a funny sight. All this I can attempt and keep attempting with the strength he puts in my spirit. I don't believe this verse is meant to be about physical strength but more about how, through him, I have the will power to be able to try accomplishing the task. Even being able to write this devotional is because of Philippians 4:13. What has he strengthened you to do? Look back at your life, regardless of how short or long you believe it is and think about how you were able to complete that task. Was it because he strengthened you? The spirit works his power in all of us so make sure to give the thank and praise he deserves. Thank you.

My heart is constantly in a big fuss and my brain does not handle the stress well. But my wife, and mother-in-law know that by just reading some scripture or a devotional book; I will be settled. His word is my light on this path, and I can see my feet so well I know I stepped in something. It makes me feel Psalms 119:106 "I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules" is the very least I can do for him. How does he light your path? Did you thank him for showing you that alternative route to work when your normal was under construction? Sounds like a lighted path to me. If you're like me than you have sworn the oath to give over your life and keep his righteous rules. There are times when I feel psalms 119:105 says everything there is to say and I can't help but feel that sometimes I let personal thoughts cloud that light. Pray this with me so you don't have the same issue. Simply; Oh, gracious heavenly father. I ask your guidance in overcoming all that clouds my path. I used to have a friend as a neighbor. We would spend occasional time together, whether just chatting or having dinner. He was significantly older than me, but we got along well, and I came to love this man. He returned this love and continued while I was critical in the hospital. Afterword's, Sam remained a good friend. I had another friend before my hospital time. After that, he became such a friend he doesn't even call me a friend. He constantly refers to me as a brother. It is sad it took adversity to cause this, but I was able to gain a valuable brother in Justin. This is not including the special friend I made in the hospital. Stephen is going through the same thing, so he is my brother in adversity. I haven't even started on the countless friends and a couple brothers I've gained through my church. One thing I have learned is that love is a big part of the Bible for a reason. Love these people you meet, and you'll gain friends when you need them, whether you know you do or not. Lift your head in God's grace during adversity and glimpse the person trying to become your brother or sister. I know in trying times it may be hard but everything through the Lord is worth it.

Oh lord, please calm this storm in my heart, and in reality. Please lift my head in your light and please spare my house and family from damages. I prayed these words so hard I was practically begging him. I sought him with all my being once my heart had opened to him and I try to live right by him. I never considered myself to be very pure, but I do, do everything with heart involved. I say this because boy, did he lift my head. He spared my house and family and restored peace in my habitat. Since our issue started in has never been as well as it is now. So, do you seek the lord? Do you pray, or plead for mercy? Do you live as righteous as possible? If so, then maybe you should read Job 8:5-6 a couple times and really absorb these words. If you know Job, then you know what happened to him and how he refused to curse God for it. So, Job can say words about our Merciful Father at that time so maybe you should heed those words.

At the beginning of my faith, I struggled with this. I put my wife number one and practically idolized her. I felt wrong for this and even tried to love her less. Then, I started to think about it in a certain way. That was, if I love her this much and God put her here, and in my path, then I must love God that much. And as an answer to my prayer, he wiped all fear from me. God should not have to contend for first place in your heart. That celebrity, object, food, or music you idolize should not come first. The Almighty is the very reason you can even enjoy it so that should put him in the lead. Pray about it if needed. He may be a jealous one, but he is also understanding and loving.

Dear father, please give us guidance in your ways and what you'd like us to do. Please help us to be as close to Jesus as possible. It's in your son's precious name I pray, Amen. I say this while looking around at a group of people I now call friends. It had never occurred to me before how great praying in group would be. What do you think? Does it make you feel like I do, that you feel like its stronger? I even enjoy it when I ask someone to pray for something I need, and they do. Maybe try that the next time you're in a group. Everyone joined in word, hearts open, and focusing means, as Matthew 18:19 says, bit will be answered. The best thing to keep in mind with this is he always answers. It just might not be in the way you expect, and you need to trust his timing.

I don't know what hardships you are going through, but I understand. I've had to, as a 30-year-old man, relearn how to eat, drink, walk, run, speak, even just sit there. Everyone's trials are different, but that's just what they are. They are trails. They are temporary. I suffer from a severe TBI that troubles people just hearing about it, but things have improved a little. My trials are coming to an end one after one. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, it boasts weakness makes perfect. If you were to see me and ask, "how do you do it?", I'm going to tell you simply, "trust in the lord and knowing he is with me." Or like, I had a friend hurt himself recently and had some similar issues and I got to use some of my experience helping him and got to boast how I totally understand his struggle. All this while being a firm believer in the Lord. I have learned that the lord in using me, and me using my injury, and helping others, and doing all this in his name is what makes weakness perfect That says, to me, his grace is perfect.

Did you pray for that interview? Did you pray when you flew on vacation? Did you pray when the check engine light came on? If not, then why were you worried? The Good Word clearly states, like 1 peter 5:7, to cast your worries on him. He cares for you so much; he even gave his son so that you may live. I used to have a hard time casting my anxieties on him, until two times. One, during a flight he calmed my heart so much I forgot I was flying. Two, he stopped the storm so my house would not flood. These are just a few examples in my life as well as I'm sure there are many in yours if you look again. I'm sure there have been quite a few times that you didn't, also. I know it may seem like a tough chore, but it is clearly worth it for he really does care for you. Oh, and I ask you to also do one thing along with this. Give him thanks.

Do you think he counts you as his enemy also? Let me just say one thing. Wait, no that's impolite. You need to reread the New testament, maybe the old testament, you know what, reread the entire bible and get a clue. If you think he sees you as an enemy then you need to pay close attention to john 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. If anything, that speaks unfathomable love. What do you fear? Is it spiders, a certain food, maybe a specific activity? Is it not knowing, or maybe there being a higher power? Everyone has a fear of some sorts. Mine is to fail and let down that higher power. To me, that higher power is the Almighty God and I do not fear him but love him because I believe. This may not work quite the same for spiders, but eventually you would gain a better understanding and not be in fear as much. Mark 5: 36 can be saying the same thing. When I was very first told of God, I was scared that someone had that much power. But I kept believing and learned more. This led to an understanding that most of what I read was about love and that fear ran away quickly. Just stay faithful and strong in belief and Mark will show you how he's right.

Do you pray? Do you pray often? Did you pray when meeting your spouse, having your child, or maybe even when mowing your yard? Matthew is clearly saying right here that you need to ask. He is saying you need to seek god with an open heart. It is a personal belief of mine that if it requires even a bit of thought, then it should be prayed over. As a severely handicapped person, everything I do requires prayer. I have asked to be able to return to wood working and not only did he open that door, but he gave me everything and more that I asked for. Anything big going on and my family will take a moment with me to pray about it and then we will simply look forward to seeing his work. Matthew may say it, it's said lots in the word, but you need to keep in mind that you should have a devoted and open heart when asking. Make sure you give him thanks as you proceed through that door.

I sit on this verse while thinking of worship at my church. Let's just say that during worship, he gets a lot of good words from my mouth. For that matter, he gets a lot of good words any time but especially that day. I can even come to say that this and almost any verse becomes the center point of meditation for me. The church is the bride of Christ so i would hope that all that meditation and word is acceptable. Mr. Rock, please continue to be my foundation in trying times and please continue to redeem my soul in your love. I don't know if you can agree with any of my rambling, but I would hope so because the joy and comfort He gives to your soul through this meditation is unbeaten.
Dear Lord, please lift my head in triumph as you are my rock, my redeemer, and my foundation. Let's not forget that the bible also states that you must honor your parents also. All this means to me is that i should put my wife before my parents. Although i do love het unconditionally, my love is nowhere near the level of Jesus. Loving her that much, i have no problem holding fast to her and i have even moved across the country away from my family for her. This being said, i still call mother and try to talk to family quite often. It says leave your parents and hold fast to your wife; it doesn't say to forsake them. When was the last time you talked to your mom or dad? It's not very honoring if you forget they exist. When was the last time you skipped family time respectfully to slather your spouse with love? Jesus made it clear so this should help. Just simply put, love one another. Or, love thy neighbor. If you work at it and try, then you should be able to love both. Just remember that genesis 2:24 is telling you to put your spouse first while Exodus 20:12 says honor. Keep all in mind throughout life.

This makes me think of my best friend as well as my other friends. Considering i had no real friends before; When my accident happened, both me and my wife were very alone. Its frightening to be that alone in that situation. Several times i was either technically dead or close and all she had for support is some family. Now, that I have friends and a best friend, things are different. This man (my best friend) has stepped up and become such a friend that i call him brother. He will deal with every issue i have thanks to my handicap and he will go out of his way to help me overcome them. I started considering an end and another friend spends an entire day with me in an effort to lift me up and pulls me from the dark thoughts. Lately i have been feeling down due to an array of issues occurring in my life, but several friends have decided to spend there days with me. I have been feeling so lifted that I'm worried about falling. Its strange to even try and remember how life was without a friend by my side. My best friend needed some help relocating to a new job so he called me, his friend, for help. As a friend should do, i tried to help and i think that is the fastest ive ever driven to be with him and help. My other friend severly hurt himself, but in a way like my handicap so i did everything i could to lift him by telling him my own ways to overcome certain issues. Friendship is a relationship where you lift each other, in various ways. It is not a one way road and will require work but if you lift your friend in the Lords name, the feeling is phenomenal

So this is a multi-verse one because this requires both. So last night was bad. I was feeling every bit of my handicap and more. I decided to try talking to a couple of friends to see if they could lift me. The one not only helped make me feel better, but was going to try and make plans with me for the next day. The other, a man i truely thank God for, told me to turn to scripture, and/or write a devotional. I thought ok. I found these couple of verses and decided to wait until some inspiration hit me. What did not occur to me until earlier today was that it all had already worked. Scripture always calms me down while it lifts my head and it had done so by distracting me from my issue. Today i was told to pray about my growth and that the opportunity to help others in His name comes to me. Not only have I prayed for that, but everything else that could cause any negative emotion. He cares for me so much that not only did he answer prayers by opening my eyes to all as they proclaim their faith to the world, but he answered them last night by putting those friends in my pathway. I am forever thankful to our Father, that through his son, all of you are able to proclaim your faith to the world. The main moral of this story is prayer. Cast your anxieties on him with thanks because he truely cares.
