Prologue
Pain and sorrow..it threatened to overwhelm him. His heart beat a slow rhythm, but he still felt hollow inside. He had failed her, and everyone else. And now she lay before him in the ground, her grave adorned with white and red roses. He longed to be able to hold her in his arms again, to tell her how much he loved her. He should have told her, how much she had meant to him, how much he had and still loved her. But...now it was too late. His vision became blurry and he raised his hand to wipe the tears that rolled down his cheeks. He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked at his brother standing next to him.
"You did everything you could, I'm so sorry we could not save her" his brother whispered brokenly to him. His brothers formed a circle around the grave with their heads bowed. He had never seen them cry before...but they all were struggling to keep the tears at bay. He looked at the grave one more time, the pain becoming too much to handle and walked away. To where, he did not know. The pain threatened to consume him, and he felt all his hope fade away. It was over, they had lost and there was nothing he could do about it now. Nothing.

The witch watched as one by one everyone around the grave left. She had been following everything that happened and knew that she had to act now before it was too late. She stepped out of the shadows and rushed to the recently closed grave. She pulled the necessary ingredients out of her bag and knelt down while murmuring the incantation. As she drew the symbols on the grave, howling wind blew fiercely from all directions as thick clouds covered the sky, shrouding the day in an almost complete darkness.
As she finished her incantation, the wind ceased it's howling and the darkness faded. She looked at the patch of dirt where the grave was supposed to be, relieved to see that her spell worked.
She sighed, "now we wait."
