You would have thought that returning to the place that I once called home would be comfortable and safe. But I'm not quite grasping that concept. When I look at the house I lived in for half my life, I see heartbreak and immaturity.
But I've grown up now. I know idiots when I see one. Which brings me to my brother Harrison, who is the creator of this oh-so-fabulous idea. The twat who, even though he is an absolute pillock, has cared for me most during my life. Becoming my legal guardian as soon as he became 18; just as he promised.
Unfortunately for us, when he turned 18 I also turned 16. That's right. I'm going to college to start my dream. Oh, and we share the same birthday but priorities, am I right?
Not only do I have to attend college, but I have to find work. Which is a hassle to balance both things but I'll try to make it work. The problem that only stands in my way is my brother who never lets me out when it dark which will clash with my idea of taking a night shift. Meaning that he'll always have to get off his lazy ass and drive me.
But let's take one problem at a time.
Like how on Earth I'll be able to get my possessions to the new house (it only consists of a box full of small belongings and my suitcase full of my clothes). It wouldn't seem so bad if it wasn't dark or if I knew where the bloody hell I was going.
"HARRISON?!" I whisper shouted into the darkness. I heard something heavy hit the floor partnered with some groaning. The plonker of a brother fell out of the car.
"I'll be right with you," Harrison called out from the ground.
"Reassuring," I replied while rolling my eyes at the dumbass who I still couldn't see. Harrison must have found some common sense down there because he turned on his flashlight from his phone.
But this thought flew right out of my head along with any logical thinking as Harrison pointed his flashlight to his face and shouting "BOO!"
To say I wasn't impressed would be an understatement.
I had jumped back from shock and my foot had caught on my suitcase. I fell to the floor.
"Oh my God, brilliant!" He laughed moronically.
"You literally did this not even a minute ago," I stated while clutching my head in mock pain, "I'm bleeding because of you."
"Oh shit! Really?" He asked, shining the light in my direction.
"Yeah, I feel really diz-- I'm gonna throw up." I got up quickly and ran to the side of the car, panting for some effect.
"Ahh, don't get that shit near me!" I scowled t his response and turned around to face him, my hands on my hips.
"Seriously?" I asked, "I could have had a concussion."
"You were faking it?!" He screamed, betrayal clear on his face. He pointed his phone back at me, waiting for my response.
"You're impossible." I declared, holding my box in one arm with the suitcase handle in the other. "Let's go inside before we wake someone up. It's bloody 3 am."
"Good idea. Don't want any neighbouries." He replied while nodding his head.
"Neighbouries?" I asked; he has a habit of making up words and to be honest, I love what he comes up with.
"Enemy neighbours." He looked at me like I was dumb, "get with the program." He walked off in a huff.
"Drama Queen," I whispered to myself before following him to our new home.
I met him at the doorstep, placed the box down and looked at him expectantly. He glanced at me sheepishly before knocking on the door. I raised an eyebrow as if to say him 'what the fuck are you dong'. We don't live with anyone, as far as I'm concerned, so why the fuck is he knocking on the bloody door?
"So..." he started as he stepped back a bit. Out of the possible zone of getting hit, "we are going to share this house wi-" He was cut off by a hoarse voice from the doorstep.
"Me."
My jaw dropped from shock as I turned around to face my little secret.
My brothers best friend.
