As I pack my bag my curiosity is diminished,

I no longer question what I’ll be doing with my life.

The little man brought big news,

But it cut through me like a knife.

I fold my clothes and grab my shoes,

I start to tear up when I realize I have nothing here to lose.

As I pack my favorite picture;

I’m interrupted by my sister.

She’s crying hysterically,

She doesn’t want me to go.

I told her I’d never, ever leave her alone.

I sit her down and hug her tight,

Sadly, we both know I’ll be leaving tonight.
