So, now that we're on the topic, let's talk about grapheme-color synesthesia. This is the most common form of it and many people think that it's a common occurrence, but it's not. In fact I thought my own grapheme-color synesthesia was something everyone experienced, but I was proven wrong... Very, very wrong!
So basically grapheme-color synesthesia is a phenomenon where words and letters have colors. The people who experience this are called synesthetes.
Most synesthetes are either projectors and/or associators. Projectors actually SEE the colors of the letters and numbers and associators actually don't see it, but they associate very strongly with certain numbers and colors. Like 1 will be red, always red in their mind. However projectors are a bit different. Projectors physically see the colors (I fall into this spectrum). It is very difficult for me to explain the colors I see. Most synesthetes really can't because the colors are sometimes different, like they bleed into each other sometimes and form a beautiful rainbow effect! Some people might not have this experience. It depends on the synesthete, really. And for me, on a computer screen, the colors are actually easier to see when the brightness setting is a little lower. I is always like a pinkish-red and R is always purple. The main colors I typically see are red, blue, green and purple. Oh and black too. But my favorite colors are green, blue, red and purple. I figured out it's because of my grapheme-color synesthesia. My brain is tuned to those colors, hence why I prefer them over others! Brains are weird, huh? 1221Please respect copyright.PENANAJ9UtMriWOY
