Like moss on the river rocks

We cling to our devotions dearly

Afraid to let go

Unwilling to leave

Its deaths turn to vacate, not the other way around

While our world spins round

Our hearts dwell in sacred places

Under that old oak bridge

Its grains infiltrated with mildew and termites

It couldn't hold another step

But it stands like a guardian over its little creatures who are chased under it by the skys bellows and lashing whips.

Or the frostbitten teeth that pierce the sky

They gleam in the glory of the mornings and they shine their brightest

Unforgiving to the little creatures that dare the maw of ice

But giving a new perspective of all that is wild and pure

The little creatures speak of redemption

But their hands can only be seen crafting destruction

Mother nature only watches in anticipation

Not hatred

Or lividness

Or disappointment

These little creatures are that of ants

Building a colony that will be wiped clean the next time the sky decides to weep.
