I could hear loud gasps escaping my lips along with my warm unstoppable breaths. I couldn't stabilize my legs as they paced faster and faster. The dry bushes creaked underneath my bare feet, pricking its way within; the tall overgrown trees fainting away from my vision with my increasing pace. With my heart beating at an immeasurable rate, I could have lost my conscious any moment. The dark surrounding the forest seemed even darker every growing second. I held a part of me which rested in my arms, tight afraid it might slip. So delicate it seemed that I felt worried of hurting it, every step I lapped forward.
I heard loud growls and curses in a harsh tone. I turned my head to keep an eye on my followers still managing to maintain my speed. I saw them, hurrying their way towards me, ready to pounce any minute. I couldn't hold the tear that escaped making its way to my stained cheeks.
I heard soft cries and moans escaping from the tiny soft mouth getting louder. I held her close to my chest.619Please respect copyright.PENANAqSzjPkVxpc
"Shhh baby, Mama's right here. Mama will protect you," I re- thought about the words that just escaped my mouth, unsure if I would be able to abide by them. I turned the cape over on her palm-sized head, covering it. The harsh growls and the huge shadows following me were getting closer. I winced in pain that hurt my heart thinking of the happenings about to occur in mere seconds.
I tried to run faster; pick bigger laps. But my bleeding feet were getting numb, unable to balance itself any more. I could feel goose bumps forming on my sweat covered body, the slapping winds feeling colder over it. I was failing attempts of calming my horror filled thoughts. If this was last time of my life, I wanted to be with him. My tear-filled eyes made it even more difficult to see in this moonless night. The sky had never felt so plain before.
The fallen entangled stem caught my feet making me topple over. I horrifically stared at the ground as it was closing its distance between us. I quickly turned my upper body in the other direction, so as to protect the new born in my arms. Thousands of thorns pricked my back as I fell over, making her tiny self jerk above me. I was twisted so terribly that I couldn't move. I heard heavy footsteps getting louder. Panicking, I held her carefully in one arm and tried to untangle the knots around my ankle.
Tears escaped my eyes faster, as the humongous ruthless creatures came in clear sight. The three men stood in front of me and I had never felt so helpless, so hopeless in my entire life. The continuous tears fell on my palm which was holding the little girl even tighter.
They gasped for air, maintaining the dangerous look on their faces. "Give it to us before we snatch it away from you." 619Please respect copyright.PENANA3rfOzzmt2Q

I said in between my sobs. The three exchanged glances and the one with a knife moved closer to me.
I was trying hard to move away from there as quick as possible but I couldn't. He got hold of my little girl and was trying to snatch it away from me but I held it tight. In a failed attempt I was pushed back as he took a part of my heart away from me. Within seconds, they started hurriedly moving away, leaving me on the ground.
I pulled the entangled stems hard with both my hands to break it. After few seconds they ripped apart, freeing my legs. I stumbled myself up from the ground and started walking as fast as I could. I picked up a fallen branch, the thickest that I could see. My blood boiled as I saw that guy holding my baby carelessly in his stone-hard arms.
I quickly ran towards him and hit his head hard with the branch. He bent and got on his knees. I took that chance to take my baby back from his arms. The other guy gritted his teeth and moved forward. I flung branch on his face with my spare arm and started moving backwards. The third guy looked at both the guys and gaped. He flared his nose in anger and was about to pounce on me when I kicked him in the gut with my feet.
I turned back and started running quickly. I wasn't even few steps away when huge arms surrounded my body, almost crushing me. His warmth and stink sickened me. He snatched her back from my arms and I felt lost and defeated again, but I fought back.
I was fighting three men and my teen bleeding body stood nowhere near their comparison. But when your last chance of living, that meant the world to you, was being taken away from you, an unknowing strength seeps into you. I could hear her cries getting louder and louder. I felt my anger rising and I punched him back. It hurt my knuckles but I didn't care right now. The other guy strangled my arms and said, "Stop fighting or you'll to pay for it. You are nowhere near to winning over us anyways."
Unaffected by his words, I neared him and banged my forehead on his which caused him to leave his grip over me and stumble backwards. I could feel pangs of pain in my head. Fighting them for few minutes, I could feel my whole body going numb and my head spin.
Out of nowhere a familiar figure came in sight which made my heart clutch. He was like soothing warmth that settled around me in an instant in this chilling air. I could see his bluish-gray assuring eyes shine through the dark. His dark ruffled hair, not affecting his magnetic features. His torn lips that bled hurt my heart. I was pushing back the urge of falling into his arms right away. He gave me a nod and raised the branch that I used before, about to hit the guy's head who was strangling me.
In his presence, everything already felt alright. That feeling was gone when I heard a gun-shot which made all of us jump; except him. My eyes widened in horror and my jaw fell. It felt as if my heart stopped beating when I saw the shine in his eyes vanish away. All three guys turned backwards to see a shadow pointing a gun at the guy whose grip loosed on the branch he was holding up. He weakly fell on his knees and as if reflecting his moves, I fell with him. I saw his eyes closing slowly and he gave me a guilty look.
"Elsa," I heard him whisper and with that, a tear dropped out of my eyes. 619Please respect copyright.PENANAErmn3IBQR2
He fell on the floor, his face smashing the ground before I could get a hold of it. I went pale losing all that I ever had; all that I could have ever had. 619Please respect copyright.PENANADT5exopady
