I stared mystified at the shiny blue box wondering what lay inside of it. My curiosity urged me to open it, to take just a slight peek. I attempted several times to open it, just to draw back at the last moment because her words would echo in my ears. I promised her I wouldn't open it till the end of the day. I wasn't sure how I was going to hold on for so long, being the inquisitive one I was.
I sighed and turned the steering wheel and took a left, entering the busy roads. The honking and chattering voices of people hit my ears after a long time, as I had been in a silent and peaceful environment. It snapped me out of my thoughts for a moment.
She had made my day. It was the best birthday I have ever had. I was going to see her after an hour or two at my place for the party. It wasn't even half an hour ago that I dropped her off and I was already missing her. My parents complained that I couldn't see past anything other than her—not that they didn't like her, they adored her. But they could see how we affected each other and I was more than just glad for that feeling.
It was like my life was surrounded by her. When she laughed, I laughed. She cried and I wouldn't fail to give her the world just to bring that bright smile of hers that I loved so much, back on her face. I never thought I would be affected by someone so much until I met her. One glance was all it took. I would repay her with an amazing day. I was already planning for the perfect date.
I heard a ping of my phone and picked it up to check who the message was from.

A huge smile spread over my face. If there was any way that my smile could stretch further, she definitely had an ability to make that happen. My heart fluttered reading that message. I started making several guesses of what more plans she had and what it might be.
Arghh, this girl drives me crazy.
Every growing second was making me even more curious. I took a steep right turn and hit the main road, towards the highway. A thought crossed my mind and I winked wickedly. I took my phone again and started typing with one hand, making sure that the road was clear ahead.
'I opened the wrapper and what I saw was unbelievable! It's the best gift I've ever received.....thank you so much, love and i'm sorry I couldn't wait anymore but it was worth it. I love you too :*
I put my phone aside and couldn't wait to see her reaction. I left out a chuckle just at the thought of it. Within seconds I heard my phone ping again. I was about to pick it up again when I heard a loud honk. I averted my gaze towards the road cautiously, holding the steering tight. But the road was still clear. I heard the honk again and realized it was coming from the left somewhere. I slowed down the car and searched for any signs of vehicle. Before I could lay my eyes on the gigantic shadow, its headlights blinded me. I blindly turned the steering so as to get away from it but it was moving at an unstoppable pace. I thought it would be a smart choice to accelerate hard and get away immediately, but somehow I still couldn't match its pace.
The loud deafening honk neared me and within no time the gigantic vehicle was within inches of meeting mine. My heart accelerated faster, my brain went numb, and I was driving with my shivering hands, but couldn't get away. I felt a hard jerk within the next second. It felt as if my bones were shattered. My body felt numb with pangs of pain all over. I was in the air but I couldn't open my eyes to see what was happening. Something solid met my head and it started to feel like I was spinning. The combination of numbness and the throbbing pain took over me. I could slowly feel my heartbeat calming down, I was losing my breath, I could see her beautiful face flashing in my thoughts before I got surrounded by nothingness.
