If the ocean can slap the rocks

mighty enough

then born is the soft sand

I knew the storm's name,

at least that

You set the time and place

the eye where to be dead calm

yet one of us had never shown

I saw it was a game,

at least that

If the gales can carry the sand

far-flung enough

then born is the hushed beach

Promises mean what to me now,

they’re only weather

I can see your metamorphosis,

your mind constantly changing

If someone can use the beach

clever enough

then born is the colorful glass

Apologies I no longer look for;

nothing ever stuck to time, did they?

At least I saw the name

of the eerie same storm

Your promises and your apologies

presumed too much, too much of me

Your absences and your silences

consumed too much, too much of me

That struck dead

my concerns

I’ll be at the hushed beach

strewn across the soft sand;

Heard you tried

to find our place

This world's shaping into

someplace strange and new!
