The reason I’m out here is because Luke and I got into a fight something stupid about how I appearently don’t do anything for him.
Which is completely and utterly wrong because I would give him the shirt off my back. But whatever, I turn to see the curly blonde I assumed I recognized, I walk up and tap her shoulder. “Hey-”
I start to say but she cuts me off “Oh It’s you! Do you happen to know where Luke is?” I caught a bit off guard
“I’d assume he was at home. Why?'' I said slightly on edge. Why the fuck would she want Luke?
She smiles “He wasn’t at work today and I need to give him something.” she hands me one of Luke’s jackets, the only thing I can think is `Oh, she's one of his ‘Friends’. I plastered a fake smile on my face.

“Why did she look familiar? Has she been here before?” I say to myself. “She came over last year and she slept in the living room. Why didn’t she remember me and introduce herself again? I guess Luke unlocked my door because it opened. Fucking asshole I told him to stop doing that. “Hey, Kai is here, would you like me to keep the door open?” I shake my head giving him a slight scowl at the joke.

“No it’s fine.” I say quietly. “I’ll cook if you want me to.” I added. Kai or I guess that’s what she’s going by appeared next to Luke.

Kai starts to speak but Luke answers instead “No thank you,” I nod to them. Kind of a dick move to cut her off like that.

I gave Luke a slightly irritated look but quickly shook it off. “Anyway we’re off.” Luke grabbed my arm dragging me into his room. He accidentally slammed the door behind us letting me go. I heard Blake yell something like ‘don’t slam fucking doors.’ I stared at him for a few seconds before he started speaking.

“And you’re what my savior I’m guessing?” He laughs and nods. “Ehhh okay,” I playfully punched him. We sat around for the most part and just talked about stupid shit, nothing important really.
“So when are you gonna tell Blake that you want to marry him?” Luke asked, teasing me about my ‘crush’. I gave him an offended look.

“Tell him or you’re not coming back in.” My mouth opened in surprise. He then shuts the door and locks it before I can even put up a fight. I know he's standing against the door so I don’t try to push my way in. Even if he wasn't, I wouldn’t have gone back in there. I need to tell Blake he needs to know. I knock on his bedroom door. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

I heard a knock on the door as I was getting out of the shower, I slipped on some sweatpants and answered the door. I figured Luke had gotten hungry and wanted me to cook or something. So I took my time getting to the door and when I got to it I opened it and leaned against the frame. “Yes?”

I was standing in front of the mahogany door that seemed 12 feet tall. When it opened I was not expecting what I saw. It was Blake, yes, but his black hair was soaking wet in his face. It was dripping down his chest as he leaned against the doorframe looking down at me with a smile on his face. He cleared his throat. I guessed it was for the second time from how his smile shifted to a more annoyed waiting expression. “Kai, what do you need?” He asked, I choked as I started to speak, I felt my cheeks heating up I couldn’t tell the emotion I was feeling it was not something I can describe.

“Okay,” was all he said. He watched me for a few moments, making me shift uncomfortably.

“Is that all you’re gonna say?” He asked a smirk I had often seen when we were in school together. He used it when he would try to fluster one of the cheerleaders, which wasn’t hard to do. Especially when he would look up from under his lashes at the girls who would stand around his desk. I didn’t give him the satisfaction of reacting, however.

“Yeah, that’s all I wanted to say,” I mutter. I avoided eye contact at all costs.

“Alright, are you free Friday night?” He asks as his expression shifts again back to annoyance. I nod and start to walk off to Luke’s room again.

The door was now unlocked, “I did it!” I said a bit triumphantly. He smiled at me.

“He said Okay, then proceeded to ask me out,” I said looking down at the floor
“And what did you say? How many times did he have to ask you a question twice?” I looked at him with a look that would literally kill someone if looks could kill of course. It’s not like he wasn’t listening in on the conversation. I knew he was, Luke was so extremely obvious it’s annoying.

“ Twice, I think.” If we’re being honest I wasn’t sure but by the way, Blake had gotten annoyed by me said it was probably more than twice.

“Maybe more than that, probably.” I smiled slightly. Luke was pretty but he looked more like his dad, whereas Blake looked like their mom. Luke always wore the same clothes in different colors. I swear that's the only thing that changed. Blake always made sure he looked presentable.

Whether it was in a button-down and dress pants, or a t-shirt and jeans. His black hair was never dull like Luke’s brown hair which always looks dry. I remember in grade school comparing them. Blake was always the outcast and Luke was the one playing sports so everyone loved him. But people liked Blake for a different reason: he was sweet to everyone and listened, but he was always a bit manipulative. I need to be careful. I don’t fully trust him.

He could get anyone to do anything, I used to call him JD, when I would come over when their parents were alive he was so much happier and he would actually hang out with me and Luke. But now he doesn’t even come out of his room anymore. He still doesn't even remember those times. Heh. Figures.

They’re always fighting too, I guess it's because Luke found a different way to cope than him. Luke well he’s a bit of a whore, I’m not slut-shaming in any way just that’s how he describes it. And Blake fell into a dark hole of trying to take care of everyone and unhealthy coping mechanisms.
It's been eight years since they died, and he hasn’t gotten any better. I wish he would, I miss his beautiful smile, he was always smiling.

I turned to my side looking at a sleeping Luke. Someone knocked on the door causing me to jump slightly. I got up and answered it, I was half asleep myself, “Yes,” I asked slightly annoyed. It’s too damn late for this.

WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING? I shouldn’t have asked her to do this. She’s eighteen, under the legal drinking age. Well at least not able to drink, but here I am fixing Jack and coke for both of us. “So, Blake why?” I looked up and she cocked her head.

She took a sip of the drink I had fixed for her, it was more coke than whiskey for her. “Oh, I see.” I sat down next to her. She leaned away ever so slightly.

“Did I offend you or something?” I asked with a slight harsh tone and grabbed her face with my thumb and index finger and made her look at me when she answered.

“Good,” I finished my drink. Her face is so red, it's cute. I got up and grabbed a bottle of vodka before I went up to my room. “Have a good night, Love.” I kissed her forehead, she hadn’t even finished her drink and looked shocked that I was headed to bed
