You close your eyes slowly to the sound of your favorite music, as you drift off while getting cozy on an airplane. The next thing you know your headphones slips out of your ears. As you try and reach for them you turn to notice that something was off. You realize that no one else is on the plane.
Your heart begins to race. Maybe I’m still asleep, so you thought. You quickly closed your eyes and opened them again. Nothing. You decide to pinch your arm just to make sure you’re not still asleep. Nothing.
Nervous, you decide to remove your seatbelt, but your hands begin to shake. “Hello!” You scream out as you struggle with the seatbelt. A task so simple becomes annoying and nerve racking.
You think to yourself that you’re in a nightmare and that all of this couldn’t be happening to you. You saw people boarding the plane with you. You’re not crazy, that’s what you said to yourself as you finally yank the seatbelt off.
Your heart was racing faster than ever now, and you being to hyperventilate. You sit back down looking at the empty seats where other passengers of the plane once sat in disbelief. You calm yourself down and take a deep breath as your hands keep shaking. You wanted them to stop shaking, so you held them tight. When you turned to look outside the plane window you could see land, and the plane was approaching it at an incredible rate. No… You said to yourself instantly while trying to clip your seatbelt back on. Not only was the plane empty but you were just about to experience a violent crash landing.
The plane beings to dip forward as you can hear the turbulence become almost unbearable. The only thing you can think of is grabbing on to the seat in front of you to keep yourself stable from shaking so much.
You hear things being to crash and shatter as you scream. Everything goes black and a silence came upon you. When you open your eyes, you realize that you’ve been sitting on your chair with your seatbelt still fastened. You must have blacked out. You don’t know how long you’ve been sitting there. You notice a bit of blood now on your forehead but that was the least bit of your worries. You came to the realization that you are now stuck in the middle of the jungle, and you have no idea where to go.
“Why me?” You say to yourself repeatedly as you look around and observe your new surroundings. You remove your seatbelt again in frustration. You feel disoriented and then a mild feeling of soreness all around your body. You figure the impact of the crash must have been intense, that’s how you blacked out. As you walked into the aisle of the plane, you notice that the impact ripped the plane in two.
That’s when it hits you, your cellphone. You dig your hand into your right pocket. It still works! You smile and then as soon as you did you notice that it has no service. Your smile disappears. No matter what you do, the phone just couldn’t receive any signal. You bite your lip and put the phone back in your pocket.
You find the nearest exit door of the plane that’s completely missing. When you look outside you find pieces of the plane scattered all over the place on fire, and the faint smell of gasoline in the air. At that moment you just jump right out of the plane not even thinking about it twice.
Your legs hit the hard cold ground first, followed by the rest of your body. So many things were rushing through your head that you didn’t realize what a bad idea jumping out of the plane was. You had to take some time to recover because your legs were in excruciating pain. You didn’t know if the pain was due to the crash or simply the act of jumping out of the plane. You didn’t care either way because the only thing you can think of is the surrounding jungle and all the sounds around you. Laying on the ground your heart begins to race once again.
Immediately you hear what you believe is a voice calling out. I’m not alone? You think to yourself as you decide to get yourself up. You desperately didn’t want to be alone anymore. However, you notice in the distance the front portion of the plane that broke off on impact. If you could get there, maybe you could use the radio and call for help.
