“Go to your room, young lady” exclaimed Mom, but Lydia protested and told Mom
‘’Did you just hear me? I said this house is creepy.’’ But after a few minutes Lydia stormed upstairs.
A few minutes later, they heard a scream.
Lydia came downstairs, her face pale and set in horror.
“I heard a knock under my bed’’
’’Did you look?’’ asked Dad.
‘’No, I was too scared to check.’’ Even Mom knew she was serious because Lydia could never act so well.
‘’Alright, let's all go upstairs together to check around to see if anythings suspicious.’’
As they walked up the staircase, they were all walking like a pack of wolves ready to attack or run from anything they saw. They entered Lydia’s room ready to see something, but did not see anything.
Nothing else weird happened until Theo was sound and asleep. All of the family was downstairs enjoying their time that didn’t involve anything spooky or noises. As the family was taking showers and getting ready for bed they heard a loud high pitched sound outside. Thinking it was an animal, the family peacefully went to bed.
As Mom and Dad woke up everything was silent and peaceful. It was different because the kids were usually up by now. So Dad went to Theo's room to check on her, but every kid in the house is sleeping in Theo’s room. Just as he is about to walk out of the room, Theo wakes up and tells Dad.
‘’Dad, I saw a creature pick up every one and bring them in here to me. I thought it was you but as the figure got closer it looked like something I had never seen before.’’
Just at that moment the door slammed closed behind Dad, then the figure came out, it was a creature that looked like horror if it was a combo of so many animals that you didn't know which was which, then a loud scream broke the morning silence into a gloomy Tuesday. Everyone was frozen as the scream broke the silence.
”Dad?” said Lydia “What is that?”
“A zombie? A ghost?” asked Jack.
“Worse. It's the Jersey devil . A creature said to have killed his own mother who was a witch! Other sources say he is the child of the devil.” cried out Theo shivering.
“Run!” cried Mom.
As the family fled Theo remembered something. When they got to the car he started to talk.
“Today is the night he was born. He was the thirteenth child which is an unlucky number. His own mother cursed him before he was born. He is said to eat kids, animals, and other sources of meat,” said Theo.”He was also called the Leeds devil due the family he was born in according to my memory. He came for revenge against the ancestors of his old family”
At that the Leeds family hatched a plan. They slept in the car. The next day they packed up everything and they sold the house. As they rode off in the sunset the curse followed them passing it on. The curse always follows…
