Aaron Brooklyn sat frozen in his exquisite office chair as he stared dumbfoundedly at the elegant woman that had just walked into his office, he wasn't sure if she was real or just something that his mind had conjured. How could he not be shocked when the person in question was supposed to have died ten years ago. He blinked once, twice and thrice and yet there she stood with all her glory with a devious smile on her gorgeous face. He felt his insides twists just thinking of what she might do to him.
Marlene Anderson couldn't help but but feel triumphant just seeing the kind of state Aaron was in,this bastard thought he could easily get rid of her but he was hugely mistaken. It might have taken ten years but she was finally back to pay him back in full for everything he had done to her all those years ago.
Walking majestically, she carried herself until she was standing right in front of his desk. The fool still sat there mouth agape. Without warning Marlene slammed her palms on the desk causing Aaron to jolt back in his chair. He was now sweating profusely and his hands were visibly shaking. Good, that what she wanted to see, fear. The same fear she had felt when he had drowned her in the lake and left her their for dead.
"Hello my handsome ex fiancee,I see life has been very good to you now that you're even the owner of my company." Marlene said in a tone laced with disdain and sarcasm.
Aaron tried to speak but no words came out. Marlene stared blankly at him remembering what had happened ten years ago.
Marlene was the sole heiress of the Anderson multi million oil refinery empire after the untimely demise of her parents in a plane crash. During those devastating times she had leaned on Doreen her best friend who was one of the maids in the Anderson mansion as a shoulder to cry on. Little did she know the sinister plan Doreen had up her sleeve,a plan to strip Marlene of all her fortune.
Doreen had introduced Aaron to Marlene as her brother and little by little Aaron had managed to charm Marlene with his good looks and caring personality. Due to her state of grieving Marlene had easily trusted and fallen in love with Aaron and had even offered him a position in Anderson Industries since he was a well educated man.
The relationship had grown and over time Aaron had proposed to Marlene and when they had gotten married he had convinced her into fully letting him take charge of the company.
Shock on Marlene when she had found out that her marriage was null and void since Aaron was already married. He was married to none other than her best friend Doreen and they even had two children together. It's at that time that Marlene had realized that both Doreen and Aaron had taken advantage of her vulnerability and played with her feelings to their advantage.
This had been there plan all along, before Marlene had time to confront them she had been kidnapped and taken to her lake house where Aaron had tortured her into signing over everything she had to his name. She had thought he'd let her go after that but no. He had dragged her to the lake and thrown her into the water forcing her head to stay under the water until she had passed out.
Believing her dead he had left and planned Marlene's death to look like suicide. Marlene had actually woken up on the drive to the morgue and begged the people in the ambulance to not reveal she was alive. She had then fallen unconscious and had woken up after six months in a coma. It turns out that the ambulance attendants had planned her death to perfection. They had pretended to cremate her and later handed out Aaron the ashes of something else to go bury.
Marlene had chosen to stay away for ten years to give her enemies time to get comfortable, after all revenge is best served cold
Now looking at Aaron she felt the anger in her rise to uncontrollable heights but before she could act on it Aaron stood up and in a state of panic fell back on his chair which went sliding back until it was now pressed against the glass wall behind.
Marlene smiled sweetly and with all the strength in her she pushed the desk in front of her until Aaron was sandwiched between the glass wall and the table. In his attempt to stand up Marlene pressed harder until the glass wall behind Aaron gave way and he went flying out.
Marlene rushed to the floor to floor windows and stared down as Aaron fell from the 50th floor of the Anderson Industries.
