FIVE YEARS AGO
"You can't run forever, baby. I'll always come find you."
I gasped, heart racing as I darted through the woods.
Tingles ran through me, and sweat slid down my temples, making me smile slightly.
I loved it when he chased me... it was so exciting.
I could already feel the heat swelling in my belly.
But, as I ran, I dashed behind a tree and kept going, hoping to throw him off course.
But his footsteps turned, and I glanced behind me to see that expressionless mask glowing in the moonlight.
He was getting closer.
Oh... I almost wanted him to catch me. Just to see what he'd do to me.
Almost.
I urged myself forward, laughing for some reason, knowing it would've given off my location but I couldn't care less.
I was excited, and I wanted him to catch me...
But I also wanted to play.
I wanted to play our game.
But—all the sudden—my foot caught on a branch that stuck out from the ground, and I yelped, falling forward.
I tried to scramble up, but by the time I rolled over, he was right there.
My heart stilled.
And he came at me, making me scream when he shoved me to the ground, burying his face in my neck.
I laughed for some reason, giddy that I could finally feel him this close.
So close I could feel every part of him.
But Miles just shoved me down, making me gasp, and I gazed up at him, eyes glimmering in the darkness.
"I caught you," he taunted, ripping off the mask to expose his face with the light glisten of sweat. "Now... what was your punishment again?"
I thought this over for a moment. "Uhm... take me out for ice cream?"
He sent me a look. "Nice try." He smiled then, making my heart race as the heat down below swelled. "I remember," Miles said then, eyes darkening. "Stay still."
And before I could react, he slid his hand under my leggings, and I cried out, arching my back.
