Do you know the value of what you're holding right now? Hold it in your hand, and study its worth. It is sparkling as you bring it up to sunlight. There are not even any visible flaws, and you know what this means. You know that you have a precious, flawless diamond. Rare in all of its ethereal beauty, you want to keep it, do you not? Suppose you don't. After all, you're not as educated in jewelry as you perhaps think. So, now that you're holding the diamond in your hand, suppose you want to fashion it to your liking for the woman in your heart? Then walk over to the jeweler and ask him about the cost. Go on now. Of course, you can afford it. You're one of the wealthiest men in Manhattan, you clever man you. Good. Now go on. 822Please respect copyright.PENANAqSisRBoghD
Now, when you find out the cost, of course, you are going to buy it. This remarkable beauty is not something you want to pass up, and for sure it will impress that woman from England. Emma, is her name? Emma. You know it means universal in German, correct? Does she have blonde hair? Bouncing curls? Fashion the ring to her favorite style. Whatever it takes to make her want to say yes when you ask the question that seals both of your fates. 822Please respect copyright.PENANAHyMg4mFPFK
Once you have designed the ring, the jeweler tells you that the ring is worth eighteen-thousand dollars. You put your hands in your pockets and come up with only one-hundred. Your life savings. The jeweler laughs at you and points you to yet another ring. He knows that you can surely manage something of that caliber. You frown, looking at the jeweler with disdain. Of course, he would treat you like so. If he only knew who you were—he would see that you were only testing him. 822Please respect copyright.PENANAzpr5HNqDNx
You want to say to the jeweler that you'll make sure none of his friends will ever come here again. But, dear boy, what if your friends are half of his clientele? You'll surely put him of business. That would not be good either. 822Please respect copyright.PENANAg8m0zJ3P5N
You bow out respectfully and walk out of the jewelry store. You are back on the Manhattan streets. There is no ring to be designed. You perhaps left the greatest jeweler in the whole of the city, and now you are ringless. 822Please respect copyright.PENANAAF7g4NZkZx
After some time passes and as you amble down Central Park and see the people huddled close together, some even cuddling on benches, you bite your lip, realizing that maybe it was not such a good idea after all to leave the jeweler. 822Please respect copyright.PENANAQIfDHffAu3
Or perhaps—you should just go to a different jewelry shop? Perhaps they have what you are looking for. And please, for the love of all things good, don't do another test. Maybe this jeweler will recognize you as the wealthiest man in Manhattan, even if you only have one-hundred dollars to your name. 822Please respect copyright.PENANAWiGLQFxUth

A/N: So the point of this exercise is to write in the imperative. I don't know about you, but I really don't like writing in second person perspective. It brings me out of the story and makes me just... I can't say that I didn't try, but I really had a hard time with this one, even if I did write in a grand total of 10 minutes! XD 822Please respect copyright.PENANA0Ecsp2N8JD
I don't think I'll really make a story out of this one in the future, but yeah, it'll just be put away and if I want to make a story out of it someday I will. 822Please respect copyright.PENANAB8Mn9QfSds
Another thing that's cool about these exercises is that you can pull like six of your favorite exercises out when you've been away from them for a while. Then you can cross them over and turn them into an actual story. That would be interesting... Crossing this exercise and the previous one together... Lol. Yeah, not gonna happen. 822Please respect copyright.PENANAYPNuAXJ7V9
Hope you enjoyed! <3
