Rafe Wescott was the new guy at Griffin High. Tall frame that tower most of the senior population, jet black long hair, chiseled jawline, full lips and a heavenly build. Not one girl in the school could ignore his presence. Some worshipped the floor he walked on some freaks refused to hand someone a jacket because he touched it.
Not even one week had passed and Rafe was in the school's basketball and lacrosse team. He was enveloped by the school's popular social circle all the damn time. There were jocks and players and heavily made up barbies that might or might not have made the turtles look better than them. All they had was money and popularity. Not much talent. Or if drooling and flirting was counted as a talent. That was one end of the social pole that was miserably balanced.
The other end had the nerds, jocks, the emo and the voodoo bunch. Yeah, that bad. The only common thing between the two social pole ends was that they all were here at Griffin High due to some abnormal reasons.
Rafe was here because he had been kicked out of two schools in one year. He was on his final warning at Griffin High. Only being on leash of discipline can save him from a military school. And Rafe was trying his best to stay out of trouble until the day he caught a glimpse of Duncan Vegas. Strikingly handsome features - the perfect dirt blonde hair neatly pushed back with gel, mesmerizing hazel eyes, soft face and one hell of a bod covered with clothes that were deemed unfit for the populars. Khakis paired with a plaid shirt that hung loosely around his muscular frame which hid all of the beauty.
The hazel eyes met the striking blue ones in the hallway. Then, Rafe knew something was about to happen. He had the zoo creating chaos inside his stomach. The butterflies didn't seem to vanish either. Little did they know, it was just the start.
Duncan, a nerd, had been bullied by the populars for years. He did their lab journals for them and had remained their designated victim since freshmen year.
It had to change. Rafe couldn't stand the sight of him being bullied. It was his new strategy to make sure that Duncan was no more bullied. Fate had something in mind. Rafe and Duncan had Chemistry and Gym together.
"Hey." Rafe said after shooing away all his fears about getting rejected. It was all that lead to a blossoming friendship. A few months passed. From acquaintances to friends to best friends. That much was their progress. Not that the populars knew about it. It had remained a secret.
Duncan was against the idea of letting anyone know about their friendship as he opposed the idea of spoiling Rafe's reputation. Rafe did not care about it but Duncan insisted. Rafe was falling harder with time for Duncan but he was in the dark. He couldn't confirm whether his best friend was straight or not.
Few months passed like that. Rafe completely in love with Duncan and Duncan having no idea about it. It was the last game of the basketball season that day. Homecoming was around the corner. Everything was decided.587Please respect copyright.PENANAWfeSN91LGg
Rafe was crowned the king and Emma, another senior, the queen. Since the homecoming king and queen were supposed to have the first dance, they did. Duncan couldn't stand the sight of Rafe in someone else's arms. He left. Rafe caught a glimpse of him fleeing.
Being a sportsperson, Rafe caught up with Duncan, fast. As soon as he reached him, he pulled Duncan to his chest.
"Can I?" Rafe asked. But, Duncan did not reply. Rafe lifted his chin and smashed his lips on Duncan's. Duncan was so shocked at the gesture, he could not move. After a moment passed and realized hit him hard, he gave into the kiss and deepened it. Blood rushed to their cheeks. Rafe smiled into the kiss. Seconds become minutes.
Rafe broke the kiss to breathe. A wide grin broke onto his face.
