Alina do this Alina do that. Thoughts ran through the young vampire princess's mind as she ran to fetch her brother yet again, for their 'too lazy to leave her knitting room' of a mother. Alina ran and ran, her small yet swift feet carrying her from the palace gates and across the small town surrounding it. She ran to get to her brother before he really and truly left them all behind for the war; a war they all knew would probably end with the vampires being destroyed entirely.
"Brother mine! Brother mine!" She yelled as his horse came into sight. She grinned when the tall, broad shouldered male with long red and black hair drawn into a low hung pony tail turned around.
"Yes, sister dearest?" The male said in a voice fresh out of hitting true manhood.
Alina slowed her breathing and laid a hand on his horse. "Mother wishes to see you."
Drewan why do you have such a look upon your face as you think of our mother? Has she wronged you? The girl thought as she and her brother Drewan, the oldest of all her siblings, walked, or rather rode alongside her back to the palace where their mother waited with news; news neither one of them knew would change their lives.
The palace, or the den as he liked to call it, was dark and empty as usual. His brothers and parents were off doing gods knew what and left him behind to watch over everything. It had been a long standing thing; they went off to hunt or whatever and Akira, well he got stuck at the palace with nothing but the howling wind and the moon for company.
He hated being alone with just empty air and the wind for company. He was a wolf for god's sake. They were sociable creatures, only alone when forced from the pack.
He growled to himself, the sound not unknown to his ears. He shook his head as he allowed dark thoughts to cloud his mind.
You're the unwanted child. You're a bastard childlike Selenea. You will never be king. They always leave you behind.
With these thoughts and more, he felt weighed down. Like all these thoughts were true. He bit his lip with one of his top fangs as the thoughts kept coming and coming, not noticing someone had come into the room. Akira had nothing more to focus on beside the thoughts in his mind. They pounded through his skull like a bullet through the body of a human. The thoughts had only started when the war with the vampires started up once more.
It was a dangerous thing, war with the vampires. Who knew what would happen this time around?
