"So tell me Lily, you believe this person we're about to encounter knows more than anyone else you've ever met? Are you suspecting an immortal creature hence I should be here accompanying you?" Smirked the pale man to her.
"Correct. Whoever this person is must be stopped and held captive, alive." Gave Lily determinded while focusing on the road, driving.
"You know you can trust me." He winked and climbed out the window as the car drove on.
"Vlad! Are you mad?" She cried out astonished. Before she finished her sentence Vlad was already out of sight.
"Unpredictable as always." She sighed and focused on driving.
After a while she drove into a parking lot of a large living quarter with row houses. Vlad stood leaning at a car with crossed arms and smirked at Lily's arrival. "About time, was there traffic?"
"Next time give me a head start." Snapped Lily. "I can't read minds."
"Oh so sorry, I thought you did." Vlad smiled.
Lily grunted with a frowning face.
"The person is a she and lives in the fift house, she's alone."
"She, you mean she's a human?" Wondered Lily surprised.
Vlad gave a nod and started to walk ahead. "I sensed nothing unsusal at her, no traces of anything from hell or basically magic. Just a healthy human."
Lily stopped walking. "Wait that can't be. How's that possible?"
"As I used to say, nothing's impossible." Vlad turned to her but soon walked on to the door. "Ready?"
Lily took a deep breath, walked up to the door and pressed the doorbell.
After a while waiting the door opened a small clift, barely able to see the face behind the door.
"Good evening Miss Smith, sorry to disturb your evening. My name is Lily Clearwater and this is a friend of mine, Vlad. We're for a few questions regarding what you published in the internet." Introduced Lily with a forced smile.
Miss Smith blinked. "Show me your ID. Are you here to report about my stories?" She wondered cautious and suspisious.
Lily showed her police badge. "I'm off duty and am here out of a private matter."
Miss Smith inspected carefully. Not long she opened the door wide and gestured to enter. "Why don't you come in? I've just made some tea." She grinned.
"Thank you." Lily entered first and Vlad followed.
"It's not much but it's home. Please take a seat." Miss Smith gestured Lily and Vlad to the small sofa as she walked into the living-room with a tray of tea and some biscuits.
"So Miss Clearwater, what private matter has brought you to my home at this late hour?" She asked while serving tea.
Lily took a cup while Vlad refused and leaned back with a smirk.
"It's about your stories, one in particular. The latest one you've wrote about a fantasy novel where multiple worlds are connected and that planet Earth is a huge platform of a crossroad to connect to the worlds. Very detailed and above all correct." Lily sighed. "Everything you've wrote is true and they exist. I presume you wondered about my name."
"I have noticed but my curiousity is too great to be surprised at the moment. Secondly how can I be sure this is no prank or better said the truth?" Wondered Miss Smith with a broad smile of excitement and took a sip of her tea.
"Well if you believe this is a prank, then why going so far with showing a badge to you?" Vlad leaned forward, smirking.
"Alas there are people who know no limits. No worries, I do believe you. Haven't you wondered why I didn't ask for your ID, Vlad? Or do you prefer to be called Vladimir Dracula?"
Lily stared wide eyed at Miss Smith. "How-how did you know?" Wondered Lily.
"How one can gather information these days, books, internet in addition my own interpretations and eye for details. I understand why you are here. Afraid that my published work might lift the secret that you've fought to protect at all cost for various reasons."
"You're coming straight to the point, Miss Smith. For a human you're very clever." Noted Vlad calmly with a grin.
"Thank you but I still have a lot to improve when it comes to deduction. I can assure you that there is nothing to be afret. The secret will remain as before if you remain cautious as you did now. Think of it, who will ever take a fantasy novel serious, a fiction?" She took a sip of her tea. "What I'm really curious is how you come to be here? Sitting here before me in the flesh. You are exactly as I've imaged from the look down to the character."
Vlad raised an eyebrow of doubt. "If you include me then you must have done an intensive research in history."
Miss Smith gave a short laugh. "And in psychology in order to understand why you did those deeds along with impalement."
Vlad smiled. "For a mortal you surprise me more than any vampire hunter I've encountered, no one has gone that far with the information."
"I wanted to know truth instead of sticking to the superficial blood thirsty rumors."
"Did you create me?" Lily asked with a trembling voice and balled fists, looking directly into Miss Smith's eyes.
"You're asking a leisure writer here." She paused to collect her words and looked to the ground for a brief moment. "I can't answer your question but what I know for certain is I wrote book with no evil intentions and only created you on paper. But this, sitting now before me and even wonder I didn't know." She shook her head and stood up. "I didn't know that you really exist in the flesh. Same goes for you Vlad, wasn't sure if the rumors were really true with the vampire lore, no offence."
"None taken but it is a surprise nevertheless." Answered Vlad.
"I believe in your answer but how is it that you came up with those ideas that are true in reality? Does that make sense?" Lily gave confused.
"In other words how I come to know magical creatures and you? To be honest they just came to my head, some inspired by dreams, music, movies and more."
Lily stared at Miss Smith astonished and speechless.
