For the first time in his career, the idea of forcing Crazy Ralph to relent. He was a religious fanatic; he was beyond help, and self-control. He ate his dinner knowing Amy Dorf, his wife, would say: I told you so, dear. Sheriff Earl Tierney had had enough crap from the campers. 225Please respect copyright.PENANAn9UafGMj8E
Steve Christy had earlier left the camp in his favorite jeep.
'I'll come back for food and supplies'.

It was all up in the air.

Alice was thinking Steve was being nervous.
He saw her drawings.225Please respect copyright.PENANAhWVagmfktn
'You draw well'.
'At least I try to do that when I can'.'
'Is that us in bed?', he asked.
'Yes', she answered.
'You don't want to be here, Alice'.
'Ah, it's just the California problem, Steve'.
'I see. Look, please stay the week. If, afterwards you don't like it at Camp Crystal Lake, I'll pay for the bus ticket myself'.
'Thanks, Steve'.
The conversation ended in an impasse.
Then she remembered Bill, and she listened to Bill's songs in the loungeroom. Brenda pulled out the game of Monopoly.
'I hate that game', Alice said.
'Not the game I play it. Strip Monopoly', Brenda said.
'I don't believe it'.
It was an hour after dinner when the game ended.
Bill was missing his brown cowboy boot.
Thunder boomed in the night sky.
'I got to leave. Have a great night, Alice, Bill'. They smiled, and Brenda grabbed her rain slicker off the rack on the creamy wall to her right. The door opened, and she ran towards cabin 1, where she closed the door. She removed the slicker with her hands; she then focused on the romance novel on the bed, and read several chapters. Suddenly, as she got dressed in her nightgown, she heard the sound of a boy's voice. 'Help me! Help me!'.225Please respect copyright.PENANABjI0PPvxcU
It was coming from the archery range.
***
Brenda looked at the range.
Bright lights hit her face.
She screamed, as the killer attacked her.
***
'I think we're alone', Bill said.
'Steve isn't here', Alice sighed.
'You're with me', Bill said.
'Why is he closed off to me?', Alice asked him.
'It's the so-called death curse from 1958. There was a boy, Jason Voorhees, who drowned in 1957, when he was eleven in the cold lake. His mother, Pamela Sue Voorhees, was frantic. Apparently, she was the cook. Christy's parents were forced to pay her. It was a camp for Christ's sake. Mom told me about the Voorhees' family. Elias Voorhees, the father, was AWOL during World War II. He died in 1945 in October. He was fifteen. Teen families were frowned upon back then. Pamela gave birth to Jason on Friday, June 13, 1946. She was sixteen. In short, I decided to get paid by the Christy family because it paid the summer bills', Bill answered.225Please respect copyright.PENANAiamzmLssMf
Alice listened.225Please respect copyright.PENANAM04PZyT66C
The swirling gusts of northerly wind banged the doors.
Alice walked to the cabins with Bill.
In cabin 3, there was an axe on the bunk.
'What's going on, Bill?'.
'I don't know, Alice. But I'm going to find out'. He opened the door, and was killed by the killer. Alice yawned, and drifted off to sleep.

The Crystal Lake Diner was full of locals.
Steve Christy was busy eating a cherry pie, and warm coffee. The groceries were paid earlier.
Sandy Roche, the red haired middle-aged waitress with glasses, smiled at him. 'More coffee, Steve?', she asked him.
'No, Sandy. I got a lot of campers waiting for me. I am waiting for the weather to die down. How much do I owe you?'.225Please respect copyright.PENANADiF8aHa5Y8
'Two and a quarter', Sandy answered.
Steve gave her three dollar bills.
'Thank you', Sandy said.
She waved, as Steve reached the Jeep.225Please respect copyright.PENANAs5KE0KLG38

The Jeep didn't start.
He saw Sheriff Earl Tierney's patrol car came over towards him.
'What happened, Steve?', he asked him.
'The engine didn't work. I'll get it tomorrow morning', he answered. The Sheriff stared at the blackened sky.
'It's bad enough it's Friday the 13th, but there are a lot of murders, deaths, and strange phenomena. Crazy Ralph was at the camp. Officer Jon Dorf told me'. Steve sighed.
'That's all I need. Old Ralph here'.
Suddenly the microphone squawked.
'Sheriff. There's a three car pile up at Miner Road, close to Cunningham Road, to the left. Over'.225Please respect copyright.PENANABoereevJfe
'This is Sheriff Earl Tierney. ETA, fifteen minutes. Over. Sorry Steve. Got to leave you here'. 225Please respect copyright.PENANAHfMvcimqSU
'Thank you, Sheriff', Steve said.

The walk was hard on Steve's feet.
He reached the camp's sign.
For awhile, he didn't see anyone.
The campers were silent.
He frowned.
Then, to his surprise, a flashlight hit his eyes.
'Oh, Hi, Pamela. I didn't know you were here...'.
The killer stabbed him in the chest with the knife.
She then dragged him with rope, and hung him on the oak tree.
Then she drove the second jeep towards the camp.
***
Alice awoke by nine o'clock.
'Steve!', she uttered.
Steve wasn't at the camp.
She opened the door.
And saw Bill's body.
She screamed.
Then she ran towards the jeep.
She saw Annie Phillips's body.
In the deep woods, she saw the hanging body of Steve Christy. Scared, Alice fled back to the cabins. Grabbing a baseball bat in her right hand, she closed off the yellow curtains.
Then the lights hit the glass windows.
She opened the door.
It was a middle-aged woman.
She wore a blue sweater, blue jeans, a black belt, a wedding ring on her right, middle finger, and her teeth was a tomb-like white color.
'Who are you?', Alice asked her.225Please respect copyright.PENANAOWBjJouQJh
'Why, I am Mrs. Voorhees. I was the camp cook', she answered.225Please respect copyright.PENANAABbCrFDGr9
'They're all dead'.
'I'm not afraid', Mrs. Voorhees said.
She walked to the cabins, and froze.
'They're dead. Steve...'.
'I told Steve not to re-open this place. It has a lot of bad memories. I was here when Barry and Claudette died in '58; I was here in '57, when my son drowned. He wasn't a very good swimmer. It will be better for you, as it was for Jason'.
'What do you mean?'.
Mrs. Voorhees gripped the sharp knife.
She attacked Alice.
***
Alice grabbed a black frying pan.
She hit the killer.
Blood spilled from the forehead of Mrs. Voorhees.
Alice fled towards the sand.
***
Mrs. Voorhees recovered.
She moved out of the room.
The memories of Jason disturbed her thought.
The moon's glow was around the lake.
'Kill her Mommy! Kill her! Don't let her get away! Don't let her live'; 'I won't Jason; I won't!'. After a second fight on the sand near the pier, Alice grabbed the machete. She swung it with all of her strength, and the horror ended.225Please respect copyright.PENANAnf3eSoo3h3

At the hospital, Alice was on her bed.
'We found seven bodies so far, including Steve Christy. You were the only survivor, Miss Hardy', Sheriff Earl Tierney said.
'The boy. Is he dead too?', she asked him.
She remembered the last thing she could see. The old canoe. She had let it drift into the cold lake; she saw the old logs, and ducks near the pier. Then, as she slept, Jason Voorhees, now a monster, grabbed her across her neck with his muddy hands, and dragged her under.225Please respect copyright.PENANARIwngzLVeo
'What boy?', Sheriff Earl Tierney, dumbly.225Please respect copyright.PENANArHj9M1tRMo
'Jason Voorhees. Pamela's eleven year old son. The boy who drowned in '57', Alice answered.
'Ma'am, we didn't find any boy', the Sheriff said.
'Then, he's still there...'.225Please respect copyright.PENANAPkUqf4K3DI

The moon's glow filled the cold lake.
And Camp Crystal was eerily silent.
