Chapter One
Mark watched the wrought-iron gate.
He saw Delia was smiling.
'What's the matter?', she asked him.
'I don't know', Mark answered.
She held onto his left hand.
'I want to know if we're safe'.
'We will be', Mark said.
She watched the King and Queen in their Royal Court.
'Let's see them', Delia told him.
They finished eating, and he opened the brown door.
Then both of them ran down the stone steps.
Once they reached the bottom, Mark and Greta reached the busy Royal Court, in which all matters that was being addressed would be done so for the rest of the afternoon.

King Franklin sat on his majestic throne.
He wore a silvery crown on his head.
His long, brown hair glistened in the sunlight.
His brown eyes focused on the boy, and girl.
The robe fell down his back.
His breeches were green.
On his feet was red colored boots.
On the right, middle finger was a diamond wedding ring.
'How are you, Mark?', the King asked.
Mark bowed.
'I am well, my King. I am well fed thanks to Mercer, the Wise magician'.
'He is away from the Kingdom', the King said.
'He didn't tell me', Delia stated.
'He had other matters to address, Delia', Queen Greta added.
'Yes, my Queen', Delia bowed.
The Queen had a silver crown on her head.
Her blue eyes focused on her husband of a decade.
Her red and green colored robe fell down her back.
On her feet was red boots.
Her wedding ring was on the right, middle finger.
'Greyson, send a message to Mercer that the children are to be cared for. They're faithful to the Kingdom'.
'Yes, my Queen', Greyson, the Kingdom's spy, bowed his head.
And he left the Royal Court.

Mark walked away from the Court.
Delia yawned.
'I need to sleep'.
'I'll keep watch, in case there's trouble', Mark said.
She smiled, and they headed towards the chamber.

Grayson rode his favorite horse, Baxter.
He looked around.
There was talk that dark elves were near the Emerald Forest. They were hidden in the shadows.
The rain began to fall.
He gripped the black cloak with his left hand.
As he did so, he saw voices nearby.
'Stop!', he whispered to the horse.
The animal did as it was told.
Then he saw a group of four dark elves around a small campfire. The smell of wood burned; the amber-red colors of the fire illuminated their faces. They wore ragged grey cloaks; they weren't happy that they were drenched. Grayson watched intently; the dark elves sharpened their arcane daggers in their left hands. Some were right handed.
The breach was terrible to see.
Grayson rode away in a hurry, and reported the creatures to the King, and Queen.
***
King Franklin and Queen Gretel were on their thrones.
'What is the news, Grayson?', the King asked him.
'There's a group of four dark elves in the Emerald Forest. They have daggers. The barrier has been broken. We need help', Grayson answered.
'It is as we've feared. Send in the magicians', Queen Greta said.
Grayson bowed, and sat on his own throne that was near where the King and Queen sat.
