I wake up with a huge yawn. I watch the fan blades spin above me. Then I throw the sheets off me, putting slippers on. The city was fully awake now, with the honking of cars and voices below me.
I went to the kitchen and started to make coffee. While I was waiting, I got a ping from my phone. It was Garrett.
“Good morning <3”
I texted him back, with a smile on my face. I poured the coffee in the mug, then went back to my room to get dressed while the coffee cooled off a bit.
I stripped in front of the mirror. My body was back in shape. I could now see the outlines of my abs showing. God, were they hard to keep up. I put on my police uniform, fixed my hair, and went back to the kitchen.
The coffee was now cooled off, and I brought it to my desk facing the wide window of my apartment. On it, was a framed photo of all six of us, and a carved dog. I groaned, moving my hands over my face. I pulled out a file from my desk. On it, was a classified file of Charlie.
“I’m getting you out of there,” I said.
