I came to realise I had grown into an adult the moment I understood how quietly time could slip past—leaving no footprints, no fanfare. Though the pulse of youth still hums somewhere deep within me, its fire has softened, its brilliance worn thin by the friction of daily life. The rhythms of adulthood—the rise and fall of fortune, the strain of ordinary days—often leave me wondering how much has changed, and whether I am truly prepared for the chapters that lie ahead.
The world, too, has changed in ways both subtle and seismic. Technology has ushered us into a new age—one where the gulf between generations is no longer marked by decades, but by mere years. A handful of birthdays can now render one's worldview obsolete, and I sometimes find myself adrift, uncertain of what the future holds, tempted to simply let the current carry me.
And yet, in the quiet recesses of my mind, I know that I remain a contemplative soul. For all the turbulence and uncertainty, this world is still brimming with beauty and discovery. As long as I nurture a sense of wonder—towards life, towards the unknown—I know I shall not lose the will to move forward.
There is, after all, a long road ahead. One filled with unseen marvels and lessons yet to be learnt. Fear of the unknown may linger at times, but I carry with me the quiet conviction that with growth comes resilience. In the grand theatre of life, the most meaningful act is to stay true to one’s beliefs, to meet each challenge with grace, and to choose, unflinchingly, a path that is entirely one’s own—living not a borrowed script, but a life imbued with purpose and quiet courage.
