Everywhere was going dark as the ground underneath me started to shake.
They were laughing at me.
Mocking me!
I hated it.
It was only one question I failed.
Why were they so mean to me?
Eventually, the ground gave way and I screamed as I tumbled into a dark hole. Falling at a fast pace, I closed my eyes but I landed on something soft.
"My, my are you all right?"
I opened my eyes to a pink cotton candy creature with googly eyes and jelly-like arms.
"My, my you look pretty light." he put me down. "But do tell me, are you sure are feeling alright?"
I nod and look around me. The sky was pink and everywhere smelt of roasted chocolates. Green clouds carrying a peppermint scent floated across the sky and the trees looked like cotton candy and swirly lollipops and the ground was green.
"Why do you look around little one? Don't you like the world you are standing on? Or are you wondering where you came from?" it asked grinning from ear to ear. "The air, the trees, and the ground are your creation but I am the best based on your elation."
"Who...who are you?" I ask.
"My, my, why ask that? I am your friend and that's a fact." it smiled and swayed its hair from side to side. "I am pink like candy, colorful as the rainbow. My hair is fluffy like a cute marshmallow. My scent is so appetizing and I like to rhyme, for this is the place where we can waste time!"
I tried to make sense of what it was saying and where I was but couldn't grasp it. Instead, I decided to look around. The strange creature followed me while humming a tune and everywhere I turned made me curious.254Please respect copyright.PENANASXM6xRl771
Where on earth am I?
I wish someone could appear and tell me where I am.
Suddenly a bright light flashed before my eyes and a strange creature appeared. It was huge with the anatomy of a cat with the exception of the tail which looked like a skunk complete with a red strip. Its fur was pink and its wings were rainbow colored but it looked terrifying with its golden eyes surrounded by a dark pigment.
How curious.
"Oh dear oh my what have you summoned?" the cotton candy creature asked clapping its jelly-like hands. "I cry with cheer! I hope we have something in common!"
"I am afraid not strange one," it said purring loudly. "What is your question master?"
Confused, I pointed at myself. "Me?"
"Yes you," it licked his paws and stared at me with its golden eyes. "You wanted to know where you are right?"
I nod stiffly.
"You are nowhere?"
My head tilted to the right. "Nowhere?"
"Nowhere is somewhere and somewhere is nowhere," the cotton candy creature said.
"I...I don't understand."
"This place has no location. No place. No name. No name at all," it wiped its face with its paws and licked them. "But you can give it a name if you want."
"Why should I give it a name?" I ask.
"Because it is your word." It gave a toothy grin. "It's your creation. Your amalgamation. Your destruction."
This brought a frown to the cotton candy creature's face but it smiled back. "Oh me oh my I dare not cry. The destruction of the mind is the construction of one's consciousness. Unless one should try to destroy the mind."
I still didn't understand what was going on but the creature gave me a hint. To confirm my theory, I decided to ask one last question.
"What are the rules in the land?"
The cat-like creature stopped cleaning itself and looked at me while the other creature grinned.254Please respect copyright.PENANAmQ60ykxvGN
"There are no rules unless you make them." said the cat creature.254Please respect copyright.PENANA4aH76ub4FA
"But rules are made to be broken," added the cotton candy creature.254Please respect copyright.PENANAt2x3UNKVxc
I put a hand on my chin. "So there are no rules?"254Please respect copyright.PENANAQG1x30rq8G
"Unless you make them."254Please respect copyright.PENANAWiRox5Izhb
"We can't break them."254Please respect copyright.PENANAaZlIZLMkw2
I couldn't help but grin. There are no rules unless I make them and only I can break them but I was still confused. 254Please respect copyright.PENANAtRG2NIgWCL
What was I going to do now?
"Do you have a name?" I ask the cat-like creature.
"Have you given me a name?" it asked back flicking its forked like tongue.
"No," I think for a minute. "How about Francessa?"
It purred and the ground shook a bit.
"It purrs in delight showing while showing all its might but be careful little one for it might end up as its plight." then it grinned. "What do you say you call me Bright?"
I look at it. "Why?"
"For I can be your guide through the stormy night." It replied.
"Okay. Bright it is!" then I turned to Francesca with a huge smile on my face and asked if we can ride on its back.
"Certainly as long as you don't mess up my fur," she said.254Please respect copyright.PENANAOggCR5rrjc
"For if you obey you might get a nice purr," Bright added.
Francesca bowed its head and Bright and I climbed up on its back. Standing up on all four, it started walking north.254Please respect copyright.PENANACApDtiXOTD
To be honest I still don't know where I am but one thing is certain; there are no rules.254Please respect copyright.PENANAITn0Tom1g4
Why?254Please respect copyright.PENANA26cjNAAPDO
Because I make the rules.
