Sunny was sweating thinking about telling this to his mom. But she would freak out like usual. He couldn't blame her. It had been hard for all of them.
But you can't sit and do nothing. You have to at least find out.
He clutched his hair hard.
Ok. No one's gonna believe, but so what, action, don't think just do, what's the worst that could happen. At the very least, you can be sure about it. And if indeed the MLA's son had something to do with it, then..., I guess you'll find out what to do next.
He got up and picked up the key to his motorcycle. He started the bike and shouted to his mother that he'll be back soon.
This morning, he had read in the newspaper that a new college has been constructed with fundings from MLA's political party. As usual, the MLA himself would be honored, with the grand opening of the college. However, Sunny was only interested in his son, Rj, as he liked to call himself. He had been present at almost every event that his father attended.
He drove for the next forty-five minutes to the nearby city. It was nighttime, and the fog had started appearing when he began driving around the college, hoping to find Rj and his squad. He found something to do soon enough.
Behind the college, they had blocked a small area as VIP parking for the MLA. He turned off the headlight of his bike and parked a short distance away.
And there he was, Rj talking to the MLA's secretary, who was an old, bald, man holding some files in his hands and explaining something to Rj.
There was a small blue van that looked like one of the cash carriers for banks, parked backed up as though they had just finished loading something.
When the secretary had finished talking, Rj gave a signal to his men, and the fleet was on the move.
Sunny started following them, making sure to keep his distance and keep them in sight. On the outskirts of the city, the cars stopped on a dark road under some trees. A couple of his men got off one of the cars, opened the van, and pulled out a big filthy looking brown sack that was commonly used factories or farms. They put in Rj car.
Then Sunny saw something that made him shudder, the men pulled sack empty sack out, exposing a pair of legs dangling out of the back seat. It was an unconscious woman.
You sick bastard.
Sunny thought as he understood it must be one of the girls at the event.
Rj signaled to his men again, and everybody got in their respective cars.138Please respect copyright.PENANAIq4mvA6xkp
Two of the three cars with armed men left with the blue van and one jeep with his usual men stayed behind.
Sunny had to find out what was going on.
That woman obviously needs help, but who, and how.
He thought he should get closer before he lost them to thickening fog. He began to follow Rj's car but quickly found out he didn't need to go far.
The area they had entered were small, one room houses built for labor workers on clay excavation sites. Sunny came here sometimes to smoke with his friends. The only house they had ever used at the very back of the build, and they had never come this far inside, assuming there was nothing there.
But apparently, Rj had turned it into his private little fun area.
Sunny hid behind a small half broken brick wall among some bushes and waited.
Shortly after, he heard a loud scream, followed by a plead for help. It was the woman.
Sunny dashed inside, crouched and silent. He hid behind a small furnace that still had half fired bricks.
A half-naked woman, trembling hand clutching at torn top, was struggling to find her way out circle of Rj's men.
Rj stood in the middle, playing the role of the tormentor in this twisted sickening game. He gulped down the remaining beer held in his hand and smashed the bottle hard onto the ground.
"It's Ok babe, don't worry...," said Rj with a hiccup, "we'll be gentle."
As Rj started to get close to the woman, he abruptly turned to some movement. One of his men was walking limply toward Rj, hands clutching his stomach. He took a few short steps and fell hard onto the ground, gurgling.
Rj's face changed from annoyance to utter horror. Shadows moved frantically above them, causing everyone to look around in confusion.138Please respect copyright.PENANApoYoiQndDi
Another loud scream of a man, emerging from a dark corner, trying to hold his violently slit throat and he dropped dead face first.
"Get the fucking GUNS!" Shouted Rj at his men as he stumbled looking around with wide eyes and open mouth with fear. The victim girl was still standing there, unable to move.
As his men scattered, Rj saw something that made froze on the spot.
The secretary; the old balding man, came out of the fog with bloody scream, trying to push his intestine. Blood pooled beneath his feet before the secretary fell into it.
The woman stumbled back, afraid from the figure in the darkness, into Rj, who pushed her back at the figure, and the woman was pulled into the darkness.
Rj was staring into the darkness. Sunny moved a little forward and saw a thin, hooded figure holding a fancy knife, just standing there as if enjoying the horror on its victim's face.
It slowly lifted the blade up to its face, and even slowly and deliberately, it cleaned the blood off the blade on its tongue.
That's when Sunny saw the Bee and the vine, craved out of the metallic bangle, wore by the hooded figure.
Oh. My. Fucking. God.
Sunny couldn't believe his eyes. It was her. It was the girl from earlier. But how was that possible. She seemed so scared then.
Actually, she wasn't so afraid as soon as he turned away. All of them changed their expressions.
Loud gunshot and men screaming filled the air. Rj ran off into the darkness.
She followed him with her gaze but didn't move. Then, abruptly ran off in the opposite direction.
The gunshots increased, and the screams got louder. They were all running back towards the houses.
Everything was happening so fast that Sunny's brain couldn't keep up. How can one girl cause this much damage to an entire group of armed men.
Sunny didn't wanna find out anymore. These people were dropping dead like bugs with their organs sticking out of odd places. He had to get out. But he couldn't move afraid of being seen not by Rj's men but whatever this girl was.
But wait, you idiot, you definitely saw more than one shadow figu.... girls, cause the gunshots started where the cars were and the Bangel girl was still there.
Another man came screaming into Sunny's view with one of the girls sitting on his shoulder slowly plunging her knife into his neck, then with one quick motion, she cut through the man's neck, decapitating him. Before the man could fall to the ground, she pushed her feet and leaped from his shoulders like a diver, landed on the ground, and disappeared into the darkness without losing any motion.
Okay definitely there are more.
Gunshots died down, every now and then a gunshot followed by a scream of horribly dying man.
When everything went to silence again, Sunny thought this was chance to escape. He turned away from the slowly, still crouched, started tip-toeing away when he saw a pair of feet. He looked up to stare right at the girl with the bangle.
Oh, fuck!
She moved towards him, Sunny screamed, only to find out she had only grabbed his shirt to pull him on his feet.
"Thought I told you to stay away." she said, looking annoyed.
"Wait... you remember me?" Sunny said, slightly astonished.
She pulled him with her, still annoyed. She brought him where the woman was being tormented. He looked to his right to find Rj emerging from the darkness, walking backward, with his hand held up to his chest level.
Rj was being brought back two other girls, walking in amazing synchrony, holding unique looking blades. One girl had one, and the other held two, with a devilish smile on their face.
The bangle girl left her grip on Sunny and walked up to Rj as he turned around to face her.138Please respect copyright.PENANArId9kHHvRg
"Not feeling so powerful now, are we?"
Rj dropped to his knees, "look I'm sorry, I... I said those things, you don't have to go crazy about it... you killed all my men for God's SAKE!... Pl... please just let me go... I'll never show my face again..."
She locked eyes with him," You disgust me. Father is right. We are the worst animals, aren't we."
She looked at one of the girls, who's with a blur of motion, put a knife to his throat. She was about to dig the knife when Sunny yelled, "WAIT!"
Everyone looked at him, but now, he was staring at Rj with rage.
"Where is my sister Rj," he looked around at the girls, "Ask him where my sister is, please." he asked hopefully without any awareness of his trembling and shaky words.
"What... who are you talking about? I don't know you, or you sister. Wait, is it that girls I broug..." Suddenly, he got scared and looked at the Bangel girl, and said with an even lower voice,138Please respect copyright.PENANAGCoE5BMms4
"She killed her, I think," and immediately looked at the ground.
"She is fine." Said the bangle girl and nodded, at the shadows?
Another girl walked slowly, holding the abused girl, now covered with a hoody and cloth wrapped around her waist.
"No, that's not my sister," Sunny interjected, with a little glance at the girl, "although I'm glad she's okay, but," he looked back at Rj, "Her name was Anita, She was a medical student at one of your father's college, LLR, and she volunteered to manage an event three months ago, and guess what you and your father were there,138Please respect copyright.PENANAKr4u6aTnri
What I saw today told me that's what happened that night my sister didn't come back home." He didn't realize he had started tearing up.
"Look man first of all my father is respectable man and has nothing to do with anything," he cleared it out of the way frantically, " and as of today, it was a mistake, I've never seen your sist..." A hard blow came to his head from a girl behind him, and fell on the ground screaming with pain, she got on her knee, raised her arm slapped him across his face with back of her hand right as he turned his face up again. That frightened Sunny a little as he saw a few of his teeth flying out.
"Okay, okay, wait," he pleaded before another blow came. The girl took her position.
Sunny also knelt to the ground, grabbed Rj's collar, and asked, "Is she alive,". Rj started crying and slowly shook his head.
Sunny heart fell. He felt like he was going to be sick. But, being aware of the company around him, he maintained his emotional state.
"Why? Why did you kill her? What could she possibly have done to you even after whatever it is that you did to her."
"No... no... I didn't kill... kill her, " said Rj with mouth full of blood," It was an accident, I swear.... she fell... while trying to get away..."
Sunny hit his face with all his anger, nowhere near as hard as the girl.
"Tell me the truth... however ugly, I want to know. Do it as the final thing good you'll ever do in your worthless life," Sunny had so much more to say. He just couldn't say it.
"What do you mean the last thing, you can't kill me, I've..."
The girl with bangle grabbed his and pulled, hard, "You're gonna die tonight, just make it easy on the boy and tell him," she leaned close to his face," and they might go easy on killing you."
Rj's looked around terrifies at first, but he seemed to accept his fate and said with a menacing voice," You're all dead. My father won't let any of you go without consequences."
Another hard blow to his head by the girl behind him, this time blood trickled down from his temple.
"Talk about the girl," said the bangle girl.
Rj got even angrier," Yes, killed her, no, no, I RAPED HER AND THEN KILLED HER!" he began like a maniac.
The girl holding the victim woman turned her away from the scene.
"I cut her into pieces and BURIE..." Two tips of the blade emerged right in the center of his forehead and moved apart with force, slashing through his skull, severing the top of the skull from the rest. It sat their with oozing blood like boiled milk spilling out of a pot. Rj dropped to the ground.
"Can you get home?" Asked the bangle girl to the victim.
She nodded and muttered, "Thank you, he deserved it." She said, now looking at Rj's blood soaked body.
She turned to Sunny, and her expression changed slightly to empathy.
"I'm sorry about your sister, now go home, and don't mess with any of these people, Don't mention anything to anyone. I'll find you if you do otherwise. Now go."
Without asking anything, even though there was a lot to ask, he felt he should go before...
"Hey, people will be soon. There were so many gunshots." He asked.
"We timed it, just right, don't worry about it, now go."
Sunny walked away from the scene with a filled throat and clenched teeth to hold everything in, but it wasn't enough. He wanted to swallow, but his throat wouldn't allow it, he clenched his fists even harder with growing struggle he couldn't hold any longer and vomited his gut out, slit throats and guts sticking out of open stomachs and the brain he saw, throbbing horribly for few moments before sagging like watery dough. And worst of all, his sister and her fate. With the pain in his gut and his heart, he screamed. Loud.
He didn't know how long he had laying on the cold ground. A sudden thought of his mother brought him to his feet. With his mouth numb and salty, and a half working mind he started walking.
He made his way main road to his bike, which parked in front of the entrance to the brick factory. That's when he saw a foreigner in a blue suit coming out of the big furnace area used by this factory. He walked up to him and before he could speak he said, "I was just about to leave, I'm not here to steal or anything."
"Don't worry about that kid, you don't look good, drank a little too much." Replied the foreigner.
"Yea, it was a little too much, just not the drinking part. Name's Sunny." said Sunny with a groan.
"What happened, kid?" Asked the foreigner.
"I think I was laying on pebbles, It's nothing, are the owner." He gestured toward the brick factory.
"No, I was just enjoying some fresh air. And I meant over there," the Foreigner gestured towards the small huts, "what did you see over there."
"Nothing. Why are you asking? And who are you?" Sunny asked.
"Which one should I answer first?"
"Uh... let's start with the second."
"My name is Mr. A. I'm here for work."
"What kinda name is that? Mr. A. That's like... only half a name."
"I can't say I like it much as I've been given it only two days ago. By someone named the Keeper. Do you know him."
"No Idea, and your days are that bad in America that you're working in India. I think I should be the asking. What happened?" He said while keeping in the kid part.
Mr. A smiled, "I guess you could say that, Now tell me really what did you see. Were there a couple of girls?"
Sunny froze for a moment. "Wait, how did you... how do you know that, and more importantly, why are you asking me if you know already."
Mr. A smiled, and turned to face the huts and muttered to himself, "So that's how you do it,"
"Mr. A," Sunny called, "Can you tell me what happened cause I saw something very unbelievable. Those girls looked normal, but they were ghosts. They left no one."
"They left you alive," Mr. A turned and walked towards sunny, "One more thing, Sunny," he fixed his shirt a bit, " there are no such things as ghosts." Mr. A started walking into the darkness.
"Well, if not ghosts, then what were they?" Sunny yelled after him.
Mr. A stopped and turned his head,
"They were Bees."
