"Welcome, to my little home. It's not much, but it's enough for me." Taja looks at me then takes my coat to hang up. I study the home quickly from the door. I could tell that Taja was a neat freak because everything was put into perfect place. Everything was tidied up in an distinct way. The way her shoes were lined up, the way the blankets on the couch were folded, the way the plants and decorations lined the window sills, and the smell of the house were just a few examples. "It's a very clean place huh?" I ask. "Yeah. I hate a mess. I take up from my mother on that. By the way...she's stopping by around 9:30. Is that okay with you?" I look up at the clock above the wide-screened television. 8:45. That must mean that she wants me to meet her mother and stay a while. Okay, I'll stay here a while then. "That's fine. I'd love to meet her." This isn't going to be a problem meeting someone new. My superficial charm always wins them over nowadays. I just wish I would have had better luck with that when I was younger.
"Mom, this is my good friend, Xavier." A friend? That's what she thinks of me? I took her on a wonderful date and I'm still in the friend zone. I shake it off and smile at her gorgeous mother. They looked just alike, tall and slim with the same caramel complexion. The only difference was that she didn't have a single freckle and she wore big framed glasses. I shake her hand and confirm my name. She says; "I'm Vivian, the mother of this one here. You better take good care of my princess. She's my only child." See? Even Taja's mother sees that I'm the one for her, her soulmate. "Mom! This is just my friend. Don't mind her, Xavier." I breathed deeply then giggle like a little boy in a candy store. "Nice to meet you, Viv. May I call you that?" Vivian chuckles then gives me a sly grin. "Yes. You may." She walks away to the kitchen to grab an apple from the fridge. She kisses her daughter goodbye, and walks through the door just as fast as she came. After her mother leaves, Taja looks extremely upset sitting on the couch. I approach her and sit next to her and place a hand on her shoulder. "What's wrong with you?" I ask as I rub her back a little bit. "Oh, nothing. I want to make my mother more happy. She's done so much for me. I owe it all to her, for real." She sighs. "Well, she's your mother. Isn't she supposed to do for you?" She scoffs and jumps off from the couch. "I'm sorry. Did I do something wrong?" I exclaim. She backs away from me slowly and says coldly; "I think you should leave, Xavier." I let out an angry No, then ran towards the front door. I quickly lock all the locks from top to bottom, all three of them. At this point, Taja was freaking out and ran towards her room. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" She yells from her bedroom. After that, I hear only muffles. No yelling, no crying just muffles. I run towards her room door and bang on it once. Twice. "Taja open up. I think that was pretty rude of you..." She might have been crying behind the door, I don't know. I don't even care. I just want to hear a sincere apology from her. She unlocks the door and peeks her head out. "I don't think what you said was appropriate and I'd like you to leave, please." I don't even try to argue with her, I shrug my shoulders and bolt out the front door. Even though I wanted an apology, I didn't want to scare her fully. Once, I got outside and into my car, I let out a huge sigh of relief. That was a horrible first impression, I don't want her to hate me but after this she probably does. I'm not super worried because I know that she might forgive me by morning. I floor the gas all the way home while my heart pounds and sweat pours down my face. The only thing on my mind was how boring my life was without Taja. The house I live in with my mother drives me insane. How it makes my head spin. As soon as I reach the driveway, I hop out my car, unlock the front door and rush right by my mother sleeping on the couch. Now is the time I come up with a plan. Now, is the time I get the girl I deserve. I go inside my marble dresser, pick up a notebook and start to jot down my master plan.
