Alice and I woke up to sore back the spot we picked was on dry hard ground unlike the soft grass which we slept on the previous night "it will wear off when we start moving" said Alice as she groaned "I bet it will" I replied as I moved to grab the radio in order to check in with the ranger afterwards we went outside to stretch and have breakfast. on the menu today was oats "yay" said Alice with great sarcasm after breakfast we started packing up we did a check and headed off as soon as we could I wanted to get out of the woods as soon as possible and id rather do it by walking instead of in a body bag after a while of walking and discussing about random things but especially about our favorite show Sherlock and dreaded the wait for another season they take years to make but its all worth it.
over the next few minutes, we were hunting for cover because it was pouring down hard we were both worried about our adventure up the cliffs now because we knew it was now at least 2 times more dangerous thean it origionally was half an hour passed and the rain stopped the ground was all wet and mushy, i still had that feeling from the tree that something was missing, that something was wrong but i just shook that feeling off because before we did a full on check of our stuff especially the 4 knives we carried one for cooking, both of us had hunting knives strapped to our thighs just in case of a run in with a wild animal and Alices pocket knife which we used to mark our path so we did not get lost but that system got flawed when someone sabotaged it, after that we decided to stop marking our passage.
eventually, we reached the mountain and found that the rangers warning was in good use the mountain more like a cliff that if you fell off will be a straight drop to death "the thing is literally as smooth as a skyscraper" Alice said with amazement in her eyes "no kidding, in fact, I've seen skyscrapers rougher than that" I said to her we both looked at each other than found a section a lot rougher than the rest and chose to do that side "I'll go first after me we tow the bags up then you come" I was perfectly fine with that mainly because she has alot more experience thean me. 2 time cliff climbing champion experence. With no haste, she took her pack off tied her hair back up into a messy bun and hooked herself up. I took the safety off of my hunting knife strapped to the side of my thigh you know just in case. on the way up Alice slipped twice but her pocket knife stabbed into a crack in the rock saved her life multiple times I was absolutely amazed in the next 30 minutes shouting to her at the top "Hey spider woman time for the packs" " yeah it's really slippery I think I might have to pull you up with the rope" she said. I hooked her pack up and she found a nice tree behind her as an anchor to pull the packs up easier.
both the bags were up in the next 40 minutes then it was my turn with the rope we used for the packs I hooked it to my harness just in case I lose my grip on the wall then I started to go up it was slippery shed thrown down her pocket knife for me to use on the cracks it saved me manny more times then her, halfway to the top I slipped and fell off the cliff face luckily Alice had my back yanking my up the rest of the way we were both heaving by the end mainly because we both were yanking on the rope to get up quicker we both then laughed " I think my heart literally stopped for a split second when I slipped" I said "Dude you became full on vampire white" she said half laughing half gaining her breath we then rested for a few minutes and had lunch around 4 metres away from the egde of the cliff no way in hell we were going to risk it even if you fell off from halfway your a deadman "truly the highest thing ive ever done" said Alice
