As per Ral’s loving command, she called the resort owner his friend. Exicitement filling her nerves as she dialled the number Ral gave her, on the third ring it was picked by a man “Anderson Glenn” was his first response, “Hi Mr. Glenn, this is Elpis Walker from Walker wedding planners, I hope Ralph contacted you about our requirement for a resort.” She spoke with as much professionalism she could gather considering the excitement making her giddy. “Ah yes Ral told about the requirement. Don’t worry, he’s a good friend of mine. Drop by have a look at our resort, and we can discuss further.” She couldn't believe what she was hearing. The only thing she thought is going to destroy her carrier a resort, was eradicated by Ral her loving neighbor. “Sure Mr. Glenn, I will visit your resort by tomorrow morning.” “You’re welcome anytime Ms. Walker. I’ll ask my secretary to mail you our address. If you have any further queries don’t hesitate to call us, and do check our official website, it has pictures of our resort on it.” “Thank you Mr. Glenn that would be it for now. Have a nice day” as she disconnected the call she couldn’t contain her excitement now, she ran towards Elle’s room who was standing near their cafeteria she ran into Elle who dropped whatever she was preparing. “Eeeeeelllllllleeeeeeeeeeee” Hugging her secretary she couldn’t control the smile that’s splitting her face into two. “Woah mad woman what's the matter. I hope something happened or Brandon’s back??”
“Elle can’t you be little more considerate, like do you think I’ll be happy for Brandon? I wouldn’t care if he’s rotting in hell” even then she couldn’t stop smiling. “So what’s the happy news?? Are you going to become aunt again??” Elle asked with a mischievous smile. “I hope my brother stops with one child for now, my nephew is handful, we can’t handle second mischief maker soon.” ”I know you can’t guess so let me get this straight, we got a resort. Can you believe it???” Now Elpis was jumping on her place like a five year old. “Are you serious?? When did this happen?” After Elpis told Elle about Ral’s help and the chat with Mr.Glenn that morning, both decided they must give themselves a treat as they were worried about the resort from the previous day.
Along with their intern, Jace they left for the Italian restaurant down the street. “So, jace I spotted you with your girlfriend yesterday” wiggling her eyebrows Elle asked their cute intern who was seated adjacent to Elpis and Elle. “Yeah, we went for the pastries hub nearby” from the little blush he had on cheeks, people would think he was shy, only those who know Jace know that he’s anything but shy.
“Ah pastries” Elle had the dreamy look on her face “oi, we're here in Italian restaurant for lunch and you’re dreaming about pastries?” Elpis hit Elle’s arm playfully. “You should try their pastries elps, you’ll fall in love with them.” Will I fall for pastries atleast was the question which was at the tip of Elpis tongue, but she didn’t ask. Everyone know her sad love life. Being a wedding planner, she yearned for true love, but never experienced one. She knew that all her previous relationships were mere infactuation. “Let’s try one day” was her short reply.
After their lunch all three went to their office and Elpis and Elle went through the mail Mr.Glenn’s secretary had sent. The pictures in their website looked like it would meet their expectations, but they can make final decision only after checking the resort. But something within her, said this would make her friend’s wedding dream a reality.
She couldn’t wait to go home and hug the hell out of her loving neighbors for becoming her saving grace. Planning to surprise them with something that they love, she got out of her office early, earning quizzical looks from both, Elle and Jace. Taking the long route for her home to get their surprise, she reached home little early and prepared a dinner for her neighbors. When her door bell went, she knew they arrived just as they promised over the call.
“What do we owe for this dinner?” Jordan the forever sweetheart handed her a basket of cookies with a loving hug. “Let me guess it’s about the resort” Ral said with a confident smirk. He was always the practical one when Jordan was a emotional puppy.
“Smarty pants how come your always right in the game of guessing?” She let go of Jordan and all but jumped on Ral, who stumbled a bit before gaining balance. Letting out a throaty laugh “when you know someone like the back of your hand, it’s always easy. Did you like the resort?” “Yes Ral, I saw the pictures in their website after contacting Mr.Glenn, it’s the best place.” She gave a beaming smile “honey, as much I like holding you and treat you like my own daughter I must say you’re not light, and I’m about to drop you.” Ral said with a serious expression that it took few seconds to realise what he said for Elpis, she rolled and eyes and dropped her feets to floor. “You’re becoming old Ral that’s it”.
“Elp you didn’t even visit the resort but you’re treating us. Don’t you think it’s little too fast?” Jordan asked “No Joe it’s not” she replied raising her chin in air, lifting her eyebrows looking like she’s asking joe to challenge her decision. “Overconfident are we?” Ral smiled “more like trusting my gut instinct Ral, I feel this is the right place” she replied ushering them to dining table.
“You always prepare yummy foods” Ral said rubbing his tummy. “Ral, we all know who’s the best cook here. I can’t beat Mr.Chef in cooking department” giving a fake jealous look towards Joe. “It always feels good when the said chef is getting to eat without being the one who cooked it. The dinner was tasty.” Joe gave a beaming smile. “Thanks Joe, but this is not the end.” Having a mischievous look she wenton “but you guys have to wait. First cleaning then surprise.” “Let’s give the chef here a break.” Ral said collecting the dishes and waking towards dishwasher. Elp and Ral cleaned kitchen and they walked back just in time to see Joe dozing off with her human size teddy bear. Ral was admiring his partner and she took the opportunity to place her next surprise on sleeping Joe.
Ral was watching her with amused expression, Joe felt something wet on his nose and cheeks. He couldn’t sleep peacefully and opened his eyes, only to come face to face with a cute little puppy.
