Won't you sit down?"
Glaring over at the brunette sitting on the well upholstered divan, Luka went back to pacing the well-polished tile. It had been nearly two hours or so since he had awaken in the strange apartment with its even stranger owner. In all the time that he had been there, not once did he manage to get a clear view of his host's face. Furthermore, when the man faced his direction, the stranger wore a pair of sunglasses, yet he took them off for the time being as he sat on a black chaise with a cup of what could've been tea.
Luka could see the glasses on the table but he still couldn't see the man's face, what with his back to him.
"You should be resting, Luka dear. You've had quite a night and the sun has already begun its ascent some time ago."
"Stop saying 'dear' like you know me."
"But I do know you, dear Luka," the host replied as he took a sip from his cup.
"Don't call me that."
"Dear Luka or Luka dear?" came the reply.
Said person glared. "Are you trying to make me angry?"
"And what would you do if I was?" The host merely smiled to himself as he felt the other staring daggers into him. "Come now, dear Lu-"
"Don't you dare," he warned.
"Very well, but won't you sit down?"
"You've already asked that."
"Yet you have yet to acknowledge that fact with an answer." Green eyes darted towards the door. "It's locked, Mr. Marquis."
Gritting his teeth, Luka walked to the couch opposite of the man and took a seat before eyeing the cup presented to him. "I'm sitting."
"Yes; do drink up."
"No."
"But-"
"What do you want from me?" Luka questioned as he eyed the man in the process of sipping from his cup.
"What makes you think I-"
"Cut the bullshit."
Setting down his drink, purple eyes shifted upwards to give the guest a clear view for the first time. They were light in color, a shade not distinguishable except for calling them purple. It was just the irises, however. That was to be expected. The coloring had to be that of contacts, yet the raven had an annoying feeling knocking at the back of his mind. The host's eyes seemed unnatural, whether it be due the contacts or not. They had a peculiar trait to them beside the color. It'd be rude to lean in to get a better look but it seemed that the man's eyes had a faint ring of a dark purple circling his pupil.
"Very well. I do wish something of you." He offered a smile prior to resting his arms along the top of his seat, "Seeing how you're not too fond of formalities, I'll try to make this blunt as possible." His smile then faltered before he sighed. "Do cut that out."
"But-"
"It's rude to stare."
"Well, so is locking a person in a room without letting them go."
"That sounds similar to what you call an interrogation room. Well, that or prison."
"Yeah."
"Yet, somehow, you manage to evade both. How lucky of you, Luka dear." Going to glare, Luka opted against when he caught the malicious glint in the other's gaze. "Tell me something, dear Luka. Wh-"
"I told you to stop calling me that!" His eyes then went to the door before hearing a chuckle. "Who are you?"
"Hmm? You mean lil 'ol me?" Luka looked at him, eyebrow raised. "Why, I go by many things-"
"I didn't ask all that. All I asked for was your damn name. Who are you?"
"Disrespectful man, aren't you?" He only received another nasty look before giving a smile. "You can call me Azazel."
"Azazel…?"
"Or Zel, whichever," the one named Azazel clarified as he rose to his feet. "Now, since we have intro-"
"Why am I still here?"
"If you let me finish-"
"If you'd hurry the hell up," Luka interjected.
"Fine, I'll make this as short and simple for you as possible. However, it's not like you have a schedule to uphold anyway."
"You're wasting my time."
"Technically, your time is my time." Purple eyes watched the faint twitch in the other's green gaze. "That and if anyone's wasting time, you're wasting Nora's."
"What?"
"You heard me."
Walking over to the man that had gone to get himself another drink, he watched as he poured a steaming, dark liquid into a goblet. "Leave Nora-"
"You're the one that killed him yet you're telling me to leave him alone," Zel interrupted before taking a sip from his cup. "Will you waste more time and kill him for a second time?"
Balling up a fist, the raven swung at the other without a second thought but was surprised when the brunette shifted a bit to the side, avoiding the punch altogether. As Azazel turned to walk around the man, Luka grabbed the front of his shirt, making him spill the hot liquid on himself. The host soon bowed his head as the steam disappeared into the cooler air of the room.
"Ouch…"
Shoving the man in the chest, Azazel watched as his welcomed guest stumbled back, releasing him in the process, before falling over a foot stool and landing on his ass. As narrowed green eyes looked his way, the one dubbed Azazel slid a hand into his pocket while his other held onto the cup he had been holding.
"What-?
"If you would hold your tongue of more than two minutes, I'd tell you," he said plainly as he extended his hand. "Go on and take it."
Eyeing the offered hand, Luka looked elsewhere as he got to his feet. Hearing the other suck his teeth, he folded his arms before tapping his foot. "Well?" He bristled when the other hummed in question. "Ask!"
"Ah." Walking over to the front door, Zel rested his hand along the wooden barrier. "I wanted to begin by telling you that your friend, Nora, has three days."
"Three days for what?"
Azazel merely pulled on the handle, opening the other's means of an exit. "Before he dies of course."
"What?"
"We can play the question game all day, Luka dear. It doesn't bother me at all but tick-tock."
Sidestepping the man, Zel didn't have to look out the window to know the man had run out the room. Going over to the window, lilac-colored eyes peered through the blinds to see the raven sprinting down the sidewalk pushing his way past civilians.
"Sir?"
"Let him be," Azazel ordered as he crossed the room to take a seat. He then poured two glasses, one for himself and his new guest. "We'll be seeing him real soon," he added with a slight smile as he offered the cup. "Do drink up."
"C'mon, C'mon…."
Tapping his foot impatiently as he listened to the elevator music, Luka hurried out the lift the moment the doors opened. Sidestepping an elderly woman, he ran down the elegantly lavishly carpeted floor of the fifth floor before skidding to a halt as he reached the end. Making a sharp left turn, he continued on his way until he reached the very last door. Knocking furiously, he waited with abated breath before pausing at the sound of what could've been footsteps. When they stopped, however, he began pummeling the door with heavy knocks, drowning out the sound of locks and tumblers being undone. As he went to knock once more, he stopped midway when his fist almost collided with the blonde's forehead.
"Jeez, are you trying to wake the dead?" Blue eyes then shifted slightly before the raven was pulled inside, door closing behind him. "You always seem to come around when I'm cooking. It's like you know or something," the petite man said as he headed back to the kitchen.
"Nora-"
"Then again, I've grown accustomed to this peculiar habit of yours." Nora said as he walked back with a plate of food and a glass of milk. Setting the breakfast down on the coffee table, blue eyes flicked towards the taller of the two. "Luka, what's wrong?"
"Are you ok?" he replied.
"I could ask you the same," Nora countered as he headed back towards the kitchen. "You usually start eating without a word." He then went to fix himself a plate. "Do eat up.. Also, take a shower. You reek of downtown…Um, you didn't spend the night in some whore house did you?"
"Nora-"
"I suppose that's none of my business though…Any who, there's a spare pair of clothes in the usual spot."
"Nora-"
"There's a spare toothbrush and-"
"Nora."
"Jeez, what-"
"Can you…open your robe?"
Blue eyes widened before narrowing as a faint flush darted across the blonde's face. "…um, pardon?"
"Your robe, Nora."
"Yeah, I know but you want me to-"
Rolling his eyes, Luka snatched the sleeve of the other's forest green robe, giving it a swift tug, pulling the article of clothing off and onto a nearby armchair. Focusing on the piece of clothing for a second more, the raven then stared at a very flustered acquaintance that was in the process of covering himself up.
"Nora-"
"What the hell was that for?" he snapped. "Give me back my damn robe, you bastard."
"Nor-"
"Give it back!"
Offering the thing that he had taken, Luka watched as the blonde snatched the item back. Hearing him mumble something about losing his damn mind, the guest took a step forward when he noticed something was out of place. Following behind the smaller man, Luka tugged the robe off his host before tossing it aside again, earning yet another startled sound.
"What the hell is your problem today?!" Nora growled as he whirled around in attempts to snatch the item before it was out of reach.
There's no hole in his back- His gaze then looked down at the man's torso. –or in his chest…
His eyes then wandered back up to see a narrowed, oceanic blue pair glaring daggers at him. "What's your problem today?"
"Are you feeling ok?"
"Oh, I don't know," Nora replied as he walked around the man to grab his robe again. "I mean, I make this crazy ass guy breakfast and he thanks me by pulling my robe off. It's not like this place isn't chilly or anything but hey! Why not, right?" He then headed back to the kitchen. "Keep in mind the same nut keeps asking me if I'm ok when he's been only god knows where at night." The blonde then came to a halt midstride. "Were you out doing…you know?"
"No."
Nora just looked back at the expressionless face before sighing quietly. "Are you ly-"
"I'm not lying."
"Where were you?" Green eyes shifted to regard a framed pictured though the man heard the exasperated sigh. "Lu, you know I don't typically ask where you go but tell me something please?" When the raven took a seat and began eating, Nora pinched the bridge of his nose before shaking his head as he continued on his way. "Lu, just-"
"I had some business," Luka cut in.
"What kind?"
"Important."
"Lu-"
"It's not important."
"But you just said it was."
"I did and it was. Don't worry about it," the raven said before eating several strips of bacon. "Bit crispy today."
Scowling when the man made another comment on his cooking, Nora rounded the table to take the plate. "No one is making you eat it."
Grabbing the smaller man's wrist, Luka continued eating. "I never said it was bad, you know? You're too sensitive."
"You're a charity case."
Offering a subtle smile as the other pulled his wrist away, the man picked up the glass. "Perhaps but no one says you have to deal with me."
Watching what resembled a pout, Luka chuckled until the man swatted him upside the head. "Just hurry up and eat. You still stink and I have to be to work in two hours."
"Ok, ok but you know I don't approve of your job."
"And I don't approve of your hobbies so we're even."
"Touche…"
"Hurry up and go shower," the blonde said as picked up the glass. Catching something dark at the side of the man's neck as he began to leave, Luka grabbed him by the wrist, causing him to drop cup. "Are you crazy?" Nora griped as he looked down at the glass shards scattered along the floor.
"What's that on your neck?" Luka asked.
"What are you talking about?" Yanking his wrist back, Nora walked over to a wall mirror and examined his neck prior to throwing his guest a skeptic look. "You must have lost your mind or something. There's nothing there. Now, stop stalling and take a shower! I'm not going to be late to work because you!"
Rising to his feet as the man went to his bedroom, green eyes narrowed slightly once he lost sight of the mark due to the closing of the door. When did you…get a tattoo? Pondering over that for a while, he shook his head at the notion as he went to the bathroom to take a shower. "That can't be right," he murmured to himself.
Nora wouldn't get a tattoo, especially one that looked like a pentagram.
