I write because I still have a speck of hope left in me that you hear my prayers or read this diary of mine. Who knows? I believe you work in your own way that many can't fathom and respect that and without a doubt have your hands full with other things going on.
Like many other people, I have trouble confronting my fears and a shame of the past. The loss of a close friend and I blame myself for his death. I should have seen it coming and should have been faster, but I wasn't. If I only hadn't suggested the idea of going out that rainy night. Letting him know there are other worlds to become an explorer, letting him know there's such thing as magic.
I take the blame; it's my fault.
That day is branded at the back of mind and recall it all as if it happened yesterday. My friend and classmate Ashley was always the adventurer, ready to explore new things and try them out. His parents wanted him to become a banker or doctor, but he dreamed of being an explorer and travel across the world. Back then, I recently discovered the existence of magic and found a special portal leading me to a magical world where the elves are or as they call themselves "Elvanshee". But I've learned a valuable lesson; magic is never to be taken lightly as well as their worlds and creatures. It was an accident, and yet I feel guilty of his death.
Ever since I've met Lily and became close friends, I fear making the same mistake, but she's a risk-taker, and hence it isn't easy to protect her. I always plan a backup in case something would go out of hand or improvise.
