I sat in my room, door locked and closed, staring at the ceiling. I don't know, how much time had passed, I just got lost up there in my head. I didn't know where anyone was, the only care was that I had time to myself in the quiet for once. 220Please respect copyright.PENANApNqkBoXtBF
I had been quite disturbed, the day before, by the noises and places I'd gone to through the day. It was finally a peace beyond my own knowledge, something I rarely get. So why'd it feel so... wrong? I'd had a semi-decent day, right?
It didn't really matter though, because I got some shut eye. At some point in time, I heard the bedroom door open. But how?
"You good?"
I didn't move. I covered the sudden bit of hurt in my voice. "Yeah. What's up."
I could tell he knew something was up. I normally would turn around and face him as I talked. But I didn't this time, did I?
"Well, we're all leaving to ride our bikes. You coming?"220Please respect copyright.PENANAtsTQB2e7Wf
I looked down at my desk, seeing the papers all spread around. Math, science, writing, and more. I shook my head, clicking a button on the screen beside me.
"No. Too much work."
There was another second of the small, sad silence. The door closed. I reached up to my face, looking back up at the ceiling. I took in a deep breath, looking back ahead at the wall covered in my art.
How'd I even get here? Why was I crying? Why had I let it get on my papers? My teacher would be pissed. I heard the front door open and shut, and everything was quiet. Even the bunny.
I wiped my face and turned off my phone. No one would respond this time.
