Finally, after battling the wind and the sand, we reach the base. I quickly open the hangar door. We drive the bikes inside and close the door.
I undo the rope tying the man to me and Sona helps me carry him to the med bay. We set him down in one of the sleep capsule and I rush to the cabinet to grab medicine and bandages.
His shirt was practically ripped to shreds, revealing a strong, chiseled chest beneath. I find myself blushing. I haven't seen people in years, much less a handsome man.
I shake my head to clear my mind. I remove the shredded shirt and use an antiseptic so that the wounds don't get infected. Then, using the bandages, I wrap his chest and arms tightly.
When I'm satisfied with my work, I connect him to the medical monitoring system just in case his condition worsens. I sigh, trying not to yawn as I sit down at the desk to monitor the man for the night.
" Why don't you go get some sleep? I can watch over him," says Sona. I shake my head. "Ill be fine," I say. She nods and heads out to charge. For the next hour is in a chair at the med bay desk, but soon my eyelids begin to droop and I find myself falling asleep
Suddenly I hear a rustling across the room. I sit up, looking. Its been five hours. I look over to where the sound had come from. The man has started to wake up.
I stand up and make my way toward the sleep capsule. The man attempts to sit up. I place a hand on his chest and gently push him back against the soft bedding of the capsule.
He struggles at first, but soon his struggling ceases as he is still weak. " Don't worry, you are safe," I say. His face, still slightly confused, relaxes as he falls asleep.
After another three, I head to the kitchen to heat up something for the man to eat. I make sure to choose something nutritious so that he can regain his strength.
I walk back over to the med bay where the man is starting to wake up once more. I set the food down on the Med bay desk. i help the man into a sitting position and help him drink some water. At first, he refuses to drink. " Don't worry, it's not poisoned," I say. Finally, he gives in and allows me to help him. I make sure he drinks slowly so that he doesn't choke.
When he finishes the water, I start to feed him the warm food. he still looks confused and a little scared. I smile at him to try to make sure he isn't too scared.
I set the bowl down on the table. I go to check on the man. he has a slight fever. Ill have to get him more water. I look back at the man, who has a question in his eye.
I smile. "I'm Nova. I live here with my two robots." I say. " Are you an Luminaran" he asks eyes wide. I'm shocked. But then again, my ears, which resemble bunny ears and are one of the defining creatures of my people.
The man speaks again. "I am Prince Kamron of the planet of Drekatis" says the man bowing slightly." I'm part of the resistance against Hydra. " I nod and curtsy the way Sona had taught me to. Sona had told me that the Drakarians had been the head of resistance.
I introduce myself once more. "It's an honor to meet you, your majesty. I am Princess Nova of the lost planet Luminarana." I say. Kamron's eyes widen.
" Please, would you consider joining the resistance? " Kamron asks. His face lights up and his eyes are practically begging me to say yes. I sigh. " Ill think about it," I say. He nods, frowning slightly, but says nothing more.
For the next few days, I tend to Kamron to help him regain his strength. I make sure to feed him nutritious food and make sure that he is as comfortable as possible.
Soon, he is well enough to stand and walk around the base. During this time, I think hard about my decision. One day, I decide to consult with Sona.
It's late and Terra is charging and Kamron is sleeping in the med bay. Sona is sitting in the living room when I approach her. Sitting next to her, I start to speak. After explaining my worries I say" I'm not sure what to do"
Sona nods." as we saw with Kamron's crash, Hydra is getting closer to home. Much too close for comfort. If they find us, we can either fight or lie there and take it," she says. I shake my head. "surrendering would make my peoples sacrifice worthless," I say. " Then the only option is to join the resistance. " Sona admits
" We should speak with Kamron," I say. Sona nods. she then heads to the lab to charge and I head to my room to sleep. As I lay in bed, I think about my people. I couldn't let their sacrifices be in vain...
