"Let the celebrations begin!" Is all you called out, sending the guests into an outburst of clapping and laughter.
The gala was an excellent success, apparent from the buzz of chatter from the people. You were having a blast, scarfing numerous Obsidian Cocktails. What was so alluring about their monochromatic lustre, you would never know.
They all flocked towards another large table, which beheld a mountain of gifts. The excitement of opening gifts was all too much.
They urged you with desperate pleads to open their individual gifts. So difficult to pick! You decided to reach for a pretty box wrapped in a floral turquoise pattern, adorned with sparkling glitter and a great big bow, tied with the steadiest of careful hands.
"I wonder what this one holds!" You said, holding the box high up for everyone to marvel at. A flashing set of white grins emerged from the table furthest away from you, as they all waved excitedly in unison.
You opened the parcel to find a beautiful silver necklace laying still in front of your eyes. It glimmered in the chandelier's warm light. It was attached to a small Jade pendant, which seemed to be locked.
"What is it?" You inquired, turning to face the grinning table. You had never seen anything like it.
"Open it with the key!" One of the girls whispered.
The silent anticipation of the crowd was pressuring, as you fumbled for the small silver key and pushed it carefully into the lock.
When it finally gave way, a sudden burst of lurid colour shot from its insides like a display of fireworks. A translucent figure leaped lut of the locket; a ghostly figure galloping around the room.
Your eyes twinkled in awe, watching the figure amble and fly around the vast room. You finally figured what it was.A bull! Why of course, the bull being the guardian animal of Taurus. The bull kicked a final round of show before returning to its place in the locket.
"I don't know what to say. This is beautiful!" You began to giggle, as you threaded the jewellery around your neck.
"Keep it safe, it will guard you when needed most!" One of the ladies shouted.

How many presents you had been through? You had lost count. Each and every one beholding something wonderful and sincere. However, you were oblivious to what was about to happen.
"Box number #18537." You called abiotically, earning a murmered chuckle from the audience. Before you could proclaim the contents of the box, a shriek of terror emanated from the room.
A mob of armed alien intruders clamoured in, sending everyone flying out of their seats. They wore tinted shades paired with leather jackets and jet-black pants. You had to admit, their fashion sense was strong.
You flew down the steps to my side.
"What's going on?!" You demanded from my distraught expression.
"Shit. Looks like we've outstayed our welcome." I joked nervously.
"What do you mean 'outstayed'?" Your interrogation did not cease.
"Calico, no questions now. We need to get these people out of here. You fend off the enemies!" I barked, sprinting off into a frenzy of orders.
Your equally distraught expression whipped to face the snarling faces of the alien intruders.
"You're all going down."
With a swift kick from your foot in the gut, the unlucky alien at the front of the clan screeched and collapsed in agony, green liquid cascading from it's mouth. They were a lot taller, paler and stick-skinny, but that wouldn't intimidate you!
From this gesture, the aliens began to fire, as per usual cue. You knew this whole routine, these guys were easy!
You flew high above their scrawny heads to the ceiling. Thankfully you had enough space to move around. Pulling out the gun, you began shooting. Your grip was uneasy, still shaken from the whole procession of the alien gang.
One by one, they dropped to the floor like flies, except flies didn't spurt horrid green liquid. Its pungent smell was sickening, and it was weakening your ability and energy!
You spiralled down to the floor and heaved a large sigh of what seemed to be, defeat.
I was too busy herding the last of the people out to notice what was occurring behind me. One of the remaining alien survivors was hurtling towards you!
What to do, what to do?! You were running out of time! You shakily arose to stand firm ground. You staggered back away from the tall figure sprinting toward you, but you couldn't see from the light the stupid necklace was reflecting.

At lightning speed, you retrieved the key and stuck it into the locket. The brilliant flash momentarily blinded the alien bastard.
Out the beast was released, charging aggressively toward the creature. It released a pained screech as the bull attacked without fear. A final burst exploded in the alien, adding to the reeking river of green.
"Phew!" You certainly was not expecting that. Perhaps no more surprises today.
I rushed to your aid as soon as the room had fallen completely silent.
"Calico! Oh gosh, are you okay?" I asked, concern and guilt melded in my tone.
"Yes. Just remind me not to fight in heels please!" You snickered, kicking them off your sore toes.
"I swear this bit of the night wasn't planned!" I found it difficult to catch my breath.
"But, you seemed to know what they were. Mind explaining?" You raised an eyebrow.
"Hmmm. Ma-y-ybe later." I smirked.
