I had just woken up in this odd world and almost died. I didn't know this odd town was filled with werewolves. Definitely, my fault for thinking times had changed. This one though was odd? She's so skittish but friendly. Was she born here?
I hear someone call her name. However, I'm too focused on her to investigate the voice. Her midnight black hair bounces as she turns around, nearly smacking me in the face. This woman was something else. I can't explain what just yet.
I see an armored man standing in front of the guild. His hair was black and had a few faded spots with gray. I didn't want any conflict, not after the incident in the guild. My eyes slowly trail up. I watch as the two interact with one another. Was he her father?
A few minutes later, Ophira turns back around, heading towards my direction. She looks...poked up. What did he say to her? I glance up and the man disappeared into the building.
"Are you alright? You seem tense" I ask, frowning at her.
Her russet brown eyes slowly look up at me, "Y-yeah. He kind of set me up or something...he was just checking on me. I'm sorry about everyone else. You made them kind of uncomfortable" she replies, looking down at her feet. I chuckle and she looks away. I frown again. Was I making her feel uncomfortable? I didn't intend for it to be this way.
"So...are You planning on doing anything? Today I mean...after that stuff that happened. She questions, tilting her head to the side. I ponder for a moment. Am I doing anything?
I just woke up not too long ago. What year was it? Where was I supposed to be? Everything seemed like a blur. In a way, I'm still shaken up from that night but everything seems fine and dandy now.
She folds her arms, "I can take you out to eat...if...um...you want?" Ophira suggests quietly. I give her a small smile in return. "That sounds lovely. Right now?" I ask in confusion. She nods and walks past me. "You can follow me or stay here. Either thing is fine. I have to go back home and get my money and stuff."
I decide to follow her. Hopefully, nothing goes wrong.

I stand in the doorway of Ophira's house, staring at everything. I could just walk in but...would that be rude? It was weird for me well, this at least. I had never been to a normal modern house before. It was a relatively new experience for me. Not sure if I should bouncing up and down with joy.
I slowly walk in, closing the door behind me. The furniture was cozy looking. I seat myself on her couch. My hand runs down the arm of the almond brown couch. It felt like leather. I look up to see a screen of some sort in front of me. What? What is this exactly?
The screen was pitch black and the only thing that I could see. The oval-shaped table near my lower half had a long silver looking device laying on it. I reach for it. The back was completely black and the front had an array of buttons. I sit there puzzled by the object in my hand.
One of the buttons had a weird symbol on it. My finger presses down on it. A red light turns on the object and at the bottom of the screen. The screen is no longer blank. My eyes widen.

The sound of my TV reaches my ears. Did he turn it on? That was relatively quick for someone who seems to not have seen the light of day in years...I think.
I shake my head and sigh. Why was I getting worked up when I met him two hours ago? It didn't seem like he was flirting. Just being friendly I supposed. Was it a neutral reaction of mine? I still have no idea.
I grab a colorful purse that I find hanging off my doorknob. I head downstairs and
I reach the bottom of the stairs and look up at the TV. I frown and wrinkle my nose. Ew, this movie? Seriously? "Ew, dude, why are you watching this?" I ask in complete disgust. Julian turns his head, facing me. One eye brown is raised a little higher than the other and his nose is scrunched up. "This is...so odd. What is called?" He questions pointing at the TV screen. I sigh and respond, "Twilight... It's basically one of the worst book series to be made into movies." Julian raises an eyebrow, "Books into visual entertainment. That's new..." The uncertainty in his voice worries me. He had defiantly been living under a rock or something.

The smell of herbs and tomatoes fills my nostrils. I haven't been in here in...years. I've been so worked up on meat and working with the other werewolves that I forgot what happiness was.
I slide to the left side of the boost. Julian stands there for a moment then slides into the right side, mirroring me. The faded green seat underneath him puffs a bit of air out when he sits. Julian sits there, raising his eyebrow and frowning. I let out a laugh and sit down. He's so weird.
I watch as Julian stares down at his plate. "What is this? It smells good but I never really saw this before. It wasn't very common from where I'm from." He asks poking the slice of pizza in front of him. "Pizza. Do you want me to show you how to eat it?" I reply to amusement. He nods, still looking down at it before looking up at me. I have never seen a more conflicted facial expression before than this. This poor soul is truly out of this world.
Okay, this should be interesting. "Here" I command, taking my slice into my hands. "You take it off the plate. You hold it likewise" I instruct, holding it in my hands then folding it. "You can eat it like this, folded or you can eat it the way it is."
Julian picks the slice up. He stares at it for a second then proceeds to fold it. He takes a bite and hands it to me. "No, you...it's yours. I have one" I respond calmly, pushing his plate back towards him. I laugh, shaking my head. He was like a child. An older person with a naive childish mind or he really isn't that normal. Wait, no one's normal here. What was he? He looks like a normal being with the exception of his paleness and weird outfit.
"Uh...Julian, can I ask you something real quick?"
He looks up, "Of course! What?" I pause for a moment then replied, "What are you...wearing exactly?" He glances down at his outfit. "Oh, this? This is my Tailcoat. Had it tailored to me? Couldn't fit it at first then got the fixed" he tells me, tugging at the red bowtie.
I nod, silently taking in features. I haven't really noticed his beard. The night I saw him...it was completely covered in blood. It's not a lot of thick facial hair. It was more of a five o'clock shadow or in most cases a stubble.
I freeze for a few seconds and glance up. I haven't noticed how awkward I was making this situation. Julian stares back at me and then averts his gaze. I turn my head away from him and mentality curse at myself. What was I doing?!
I turn my head back and clear my throat. "Uh...sorry! So, what are you exactly?" I quickly ask. He gives me a blank stare. Now I was really worried.
"You definitely aren't from around here," I say, raising an eyebrow. His eyes widen but, nothing comes out of his mouth. Then he asks me,
"What are you if I may ask?"
"A werewolf? The literal definition of rage itself. You?" I answer, trying to at least add humor the conversation.
Julian sits up straight, "I'm a hybrid. A dhampir" he replies bluntly.
I blink then gasp. "Oh! What's that exactly?" He shakes his head, "Ophira, I'm immortal for the most part. I'm half-human half-vampire. I was asleep for who knows how many years. I woke up not too long ago. I don't even know half the stuff you do."
I frown, looking down at my pants. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to offend you in any way" I apologize.
If only I had known that much earlier. I've heard stories or countless legends of werewolves butting heads with vampires. This though...this was totally different. It almost reminded me of a certain video game character. I can't really recall his name.
I feel his hand touch mine and I avoid his eyes. It was oddly warm for what he was. Was he supposed to be warm?
"Don't. You didn't know. What surprises me the most is what you are. You didn't even bat an eye and turn back around at the guild. I noticed you when I first walked in but, I didn't approach you directly. They would have killed me in a blink of an eye if I had stayed. I'm actually glad I met a nice one...you of course." He states, softening his gaze.
I am still so conflicted. That mini massacre was caused by him. Sitting in front of him now is confusing. He seems like a totally different person. I can't say for certain since I never saw him actually kill anyone.
"Thanks...you didn't have to say that. It's thanks to Silvaus. I was talking to a few hours ago. He's like a father to me. That's probably why I'm not like the others; he's like me surprisingly. Either he was raised like me or...he learned to accept others, not like him." I reply, looking up at him, my eyes boring into his. We were silent for a few minutes.
"So, do you want to head back? We can box the pizza." I ask softly, trying to break the awkward silence between us. He gives a current nod but, says nothing.

Do you have anywhere to stay?" I ask. Julian sighs, "No, sadly..." Hearing that made me get worked up. I did have a guest room and a couch...I guess it won't hurt to let him stay.
Part of me was saying this is not a good idea. He looked completely lost and harmless. However, I knew the area we were in was a danger zone. Once someone finds out all of hell will probably break loose.
"Y-you can stay here. Okay? I have a spare bedroom upstairs" I tell him almost stumbling on my words.
I watch as his eyes widen then he nods. "Thank you. I'm still so confused right now. Hopefully, I can be on my way tomorrow...well if I can" he says, looking down at the floor.
A pang of regret and fear hit me. I wasn't sure what to think. At the same time, I was concerned. If he were to leave tomorrow then someone surely was going to take advantage of this. Once an Azer Town wolf, always an Azer Town wolf.
I huff in annoyance and shake my head. "Sorry buddy, whether you like it or not. I'm keeping a watchful eye on you. If you step one foot out of this house, the hounds will come for you. The wolves here are as bad as the stories go. I can't risk that" I tell him, frowning and crossing my arms.
Julian raises an eyebrow then sighs. "You just met me...why are you so nice to me? Oh, wait...you pity me, don't you? Nothing new here" He answers sarcastically. With a heavy sigh, he slumps himself on the couch.
I almost catch myself glaring at him. My glare turns into mild confusion. Did people pity him? What was this all about? He seemed so quiet and kind before. Now he was annoyed. I didn't get it. Not one bit.
I hear him shuffle his weight on the couch and he huffs. I look up completely caught off guard. He's sitting up straight now and he rests his elbows on his thighs. He folds his hands together and sighs.
"I-I'm sorry. I'm just stressed out. Stressed out tremendously. I'll just sleep on the couch tonight. Is that all right with you?" He asks, gazing up at me.
"Uh...yeah. That's fine with me. Just holler if you need anything" I say awkwardly. My eyes are fixated on his again. This time I close mine and regain my posture. I can feel this wild and confusing energy coming from him. He's so odd but fascinating. I don't know why I'm thinking this but I am.
I head up the stairs and walk myself to the bathroom. I close the door and look into the mirror hanging above the sink. My mind is whirling and I have never felt so weird before. I just let a stranger into my house. He isn't just any stranger though, he was out of this modern world.
How was I going to tell this to Silvaus? I didn't think it would go this far. Strange. It feels like everything was happening so fast. Whatever this means I hope nothing bad comes out of it.
