I saw her again on a melancholy and gloomy day in the park.
I decided to come say hi, since this was my last chance before I left.
I went into the park and found her sitting on a bench and walked towards her.
She didn't notice me as first because her head was so low and her eyes were closed with guilt.
I sat beside her and as soon as I sat down, her head shot up like a spring.
She was shivering in her flimsy clothes.
She gasped in surprise when I smiled at her.
'Hey.' I said to her. 'Hey..' she replied.
'What are you even doing out here anyway?' I asked. 'Shouldn't you be at your house?'
She looked towards the floor and gulped.
'I'm sorry.' She cried as she hugged me and buried her head in my chest. I flinched at the frigid touch of her skin, while she felt the toasty touch of my skin. There was guilt in her tone as I embraced her in my arms.
'I'm sorry for hurting you, I caused you pain for a long time.'
She continued to sob into his chest,
'You cheated on me, and I'll always be hurt.'
'But no matter what happens, I'll never leave your side.'
She gave me the most saddened look in her eyes, a glimmer of hope came and faded away.
'I've hurt you so much, why do you still wanna help me?'
'I want our hearts to heal again, but I can't do that unless we reconcile.' He cupped her face in his hands, bringing her close to him. My thumbs wiped away her tears and her eyes were dull and gray.
She looked up to me, with joy and color in her eyes. This was the Audenzia I wanted to see again.
'Can you forgive me, Santiago?', she said softly. 'I know this doesn't seem like a good tim-'
He kissed her passionately on her forehead and whispered..
'I forgive you, Audenzia.'
Now, I have finally served my purpose.
