I remember that as a child in the sixth grade, my entire elementary school did a concert at Rock the Port in Nanaimo, where I was living. It was a night full of music; singing and acting.

I moved after that night and I am now grown up and married. But sometimes, I think about that night and the song that I sang with my classmates.

In my mind, I'm a champion.

In my mind, I can soar.

In my heart, I discovered and believed I'm so much more.

I'll do my best every moment, with honour I will find.

Standing tall, I'm a champion in my mind.

And when I think about the words to that beautiful song that I sang as a child, I am reminded that despite my hardships and trials, I have conquered. The song is embedded in my mind to remind me, that as long as I put my mind and heart in to it, I can come out on top of things as the champion that I know I'm meant to me.
