“Celebrity Gossip Central has been anonymously told that the great Aaron Cage, a singer and actor, has been spotted in a town in Massachusetts. He was supposedly visiting a school to give a speech, but this video, anonymously sent in, says otherwise,” the reporter with bleach blonde hair then gestured to the screen behind her, which was showing pictures of a smiling Aaron standing in front of my high school. It was the day after my encounter with Aaron, and Jay and I were watching the celebrity news in my bedroom. The camera zoomed in on the video clip that was now playing behind the reporter, which Jay had sent in just last night.

“You want to know what I think?” the girl in the clip said, jumping down from a tree. Jay and I had been sure to blur out my face so no one would be able to tell who it was. “I think that you are a lying, cheating scoundrel who doesn’t even deserve the opportunity to explain himself.”
“Come on __, please just let me explain. Don’t I deserve a second chance?” Aaron, the only recognizable person in the video said. We also made sure to block out every time he said my name.
“No one deserves a second chance after doing what you did.” The girl’s voice rang strong through the woods, a warning bell ringing to stay away.
“But I’m famous, that should count for something.”
“You did not just try to play the famous card on me! I can’t believe you would do that! Just because you’re famous it does not excuse the fact that you were with another woman after repeatedly telling me you loved me! And then you have the audacity to come running after me claiming that she kissed you when it was clearly both of your faults! And then when that excuse didn’t work, you claimed it was a publicity stunt! I wouldn’t have minded as much if you had told me that before you kissed her! And now you show up here, at my school, under the false pretenses of giving a speech to win over some of your tougher fans, just to try to win me back!” the girl on the screen blew up, screaming at Aaron. They were in the middle of the woods, no one would hear.
“I didn’t know-“
“You didn’t know. Sure you didn’t know! You never know! I told you a thousand times exactly which town I lived in, hoping you would visit me once the summer was over. But of course, before I even get a chance to leave, I catch you with her. And now you’re here, claiming you didn’t know!”
“Just please-“ the girl cut him off by slapping him, something he obviously didn’t see coming.
A long silence followed before the girl on the screen leaned close to Aaron’s face and, through clenched teeth, hissed, “I never want to see you’re ugly little face here again. In fact, I never want to see you anywhere ever again.” Then straightening up, she turned to the camera saying, “Let’s go __. I need to get out of here before I punch his face in.”

“Well there you have it folks!” the reporter continued, as if everyone hadn’t just watched a life altering video clip. “The real reason Aaron Cage was in Massachusetts was not to give a speech to a high school for publicity, but to see a girl whom he apparently dated over the summer. Who is this mysterious girl? Has she just revealed to us all the real Aaron Cage, or is it just a misunderstanding? We hope to have more information when we see you next on celebrity news.”
Jay turned the TV off and faced me. “Do you think we did the right thing sending that video in?” he asked me, seeming unsure of the answer.
“Of course we did!” I immediately replied. “The whole world deserves to know the truth about him, whether they believe it or not.” Jay just nodded, than got up to put a movie in, something we always did on a Saturday night.
“Batman, Mean Girls, or The Fault in Our Stars?” Jay asked, looking through my movie case. Before I could answer him, the doorbell rang.
“Put in The Fault in Our Stars. I’m going to go see who’s at the door. I’ll be back up in a minute with some popcorn,” I replied, already halfway out my bedroom door. The doorbell rang again. Apparently this person wasn’t very patient. “Coming!” I yelled, rushing down the stairs and flinging the door open.
“How could you do this to me?” the person immediately yelled. “You just completely ruined my career by submitting that video! Do you even understand what you’ve done?”
“I thought I told you I never wanted to see you again,” I replied, completely ignoring everything he had just said.
“I’m ruined!” he yelled. “Everyone hates me because they think I cheated on some random girl for a celebrity!”
“That was the point of submitting that video, Aaron. So the entire world knows exactly who you are. Now I hope to never see your face again. Goodbye, Aaron. For good this time.” I slammed the door in his face, leaning heavily against it and sliding down to the floor. I put my head in my hands and began to silently cry. Sure, Aaron and I had broken up, but this time I knew that I would never see him again. He had been so mad…he’s never yelled at me like that before. We’re really over. Even he knows that know. Just that thought is almost too much to bear. It was like our break up, but ten times worse.
“El?” I heard Jayden’s tentative voice from the top of the stairs. He slowly came down the stairs, not seeming to be quite sure what to do. He finally sat down beside me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. “You were taking a while, so I was going to come down and see if you needed help. I only heard him yelling at you. Are you okay?” I slowly shook my head, not moving it from my hands. “Come on,” Jay said, standing up and grabbing my hand. “Let’s go watch that movie. I know it’s not going to help, but it will at least take your mind off of things for a while.” I silently nodded, letting Jayden pull me up. That night I fell asleep with a tear stained face, and thoughts of how imperfect life actually is.
