I collapse again, smearing the blood from my bleeding shins over the rocks that I fall on. This time, when I am lifted to my feet once again, I am hoisted onto their shoulders, with much gentler hands than the cavemen. They stumble up the rocky passage, following the same path that the cavemen had taken not too long beforehand. The light from our torches slowly dim, as the batteries, though the batteries are long lasting, are running out, as well as the light from our torches being overpowered from the light of the main cave. We slow down, unsure if the cavemen are aware of the escape happening in the depths of their territory. We have no way of knowing. The bend in the tunnel blocks any sound coming from either direction. So, we push on.
We come to the entrance of the main cavern. The sounds of yelling and hollering come to our ears, all of us cowering down, hoping to avoid detection. Well, that worked well. Almost immediately we are spotted, the alarm raised with a deafening cry. All the cavemen stopped their arguments, and in an instant, they had grabbed their weapons, recently sharpened by the looks of the ends, much sharper than when I had been captured, though they were definitely sharp then too. There is no way that I would like to be stabbed with them again, though I did not want to be stabbed with them in the first place either.605Please respect copyright.PENANAjGsNwRjZ0W

The next five minutes is a blur. My team separate, one group forming a defensive wall around me and my carriers. We move slowly through the thronging hostile group, stopping the bursts of attack as they try to recapture me, and capture as many of my rescuers as they possibly can. I can see all the fighting out of the corner of my eye, making my stomach feel sickened because I cannot be part of the action. Then, as the carriers turn slightly to avoid a spear thrown rather more accurately than the others, I see one of my closest friends fall from the violent onslaught. Adrenaline surges through my veins, putting newfound power in my muscles. I can’t let my team fall at the hands of the opposition.
